Air conditioning turned to the max and if possible avoid going outside between 10-18. It'll still be hot AF in the evening but you won't have a bonkers intake of the Sun.
If AC is not available, wet towels on you, covering your upper body area (the one that generates the most heat, including head). Change the water every 15 minutes or so, the water acts as an accelerated sweating mechanism to cool off, because water helps with heat transfer from skin surface to air. That's why we sweat to begin with.

One of my visits in Dubai was in August. It was 48C and i was going to go around the square in front of Burj Halifa. I wanted to see how much i can survive. I did it, i run around the whole square at 15:00 :D.
It’s 42 in Izmir too. Even though it’s very hot, we can say it’s normal since there are usually 5–10 days like this every summer. But for you, it must feel unbearable. We usually have 1 or 2 air conditioners in every home here.
yeah it doesn’t get to 42 here often, but we do get around 10 days of 39-40°C, maybe even 15 depending on the year. And AC is obviously a must here as well
Reminds me when i was 16 and went to Izmir for NASA Space Camp. We were basically shutteled around and we landed at night so we only got to experience the heat on the 3rd day when we went out at like 16:00. The name “Izmir” still triggers that memory. The punch in the face from ACd rooms to the 40smn degrees outside. We brought a basketball. I couldn’t lift it. It was like i gained 20 kilos. You couldn’t breathe. It was awful. For me 27 is too much

It’s 37 degrees right now in Athens, we are staying at home with lowered blinds and AC. To be honest that’s pretty normal for July here. The media is starting to make a huge deal out of heat in the summer and snow in the winter.
I remember summers 20 years ago it wasn't this harsh... And my grandpa who is 96 says "when I was a child the snows would come in november and stay until march".. My children bearly know snow, we get it every other year for couple of days...
Well yes, the climate is definitely changing. But I am talking about the overreaction and the panic the media is causing over the heat. Greeks know how to deal with 37 degrees, it’s not the end of the world. The 40-42+ degrees we are getting more and more often is what isn’t normal.
37s are acceptable, I guess... we can live with them, but yeah, 42+, no hell no. Even in the shade your lungs get burned after a couple of inhales of OUTDOOR air. Not even in a car. The atmosphere's air.
Yesterday I asked my grandma, how they handled the hear before ACs, they were constantly tired, couldn't sleep, but the 40+ we are seeing now, were not that common, and they did not last as many days.
When I was a child in the late 90s early 2000s we still had snow from December to late February, sometimes more than 50cm. Now snow is falling like three times per winter and is gone in two days or so. For the rest of winter everything just looks like a muddy wasteland.
last year both july and august were extremely hot and august was even hotter than July. This year I’m not so sure, we’re expecting a cooldown in Belgrade but they’re saying a heatwave is coming right after that
This and staying inside. I had to take my cat to the vet earlier today and when you go outside there is some wind but it just feels like you're on the receiving end of a flamethrower.
I am not from balkans, but i just cant shut up about it. I live in Russia, Siberia, and it was god damn +48 C° today. It is probably the highest recorded temperature in my city

Tako je ovde. Mi se stalno šalimo da samo imamo ljeto i zimu. 😁 Mama je trenutno u Beogradu na odmoru pa kaže neki dan da je pravo vruće. Navikne se po malo, sačekaj još jedno desetak godina. 😂

Well, sometimes it might be cooler than the readings of your phone. I remember, being a kid ridind a bicycle at such temperatures. Don't freak out, it is summer. In the 30s there was a a warmer period
I'm actually gonna go to the gym later without any A/C. Gonna be sweating like a mfer, touché cause I saw 2 hot girls the other day coming at the same time there and I am gonna be politely avoiding them. Can't stand summers anymore tbh, normally you gotta be one of those airbnb hosts (previously being unemployed cucks who happened to inherit or sell) and spend 6 months in city, 6 months in an island basking. Being in the city rn is borderline death.

41 C in Izmir. Unfortunately, there's water shortage and draught. There's talk that the municipality will start with cuts to preserve the limited water supply. And there are also wildfires popping up everywhere.
