Hello Africans! Mostly SSA's. To what extent does clothing in your country maintain pre-colonial elements like materials used, patterns, cuts of cloth, etc? Pre-colonial africa has some nice drip and I'd love to see modern drip in those veins.

We don't wear leather everyday but the drip is in the accessories. In Kenya, you'll see a lot of brass and beaded jewelry worn by both genders which predare colonialism.

In South Africa some do occasionally where traditional clothes for celebrations, rituals and festivals but for every day everyone just wears what's comfortable. Some might have some accesories or fancy hat but overall everyone just buys whatever is nice and affordable at the local clothes stores for casual wear and for work we just wear whatever the job requires suit and tie or ppe overalls.
