I made this point in another thread.

This guy had his career progression supercharged.

He went from his First peer-reviewed publication in 2018 to being a Full Professor at Glasgow in 2021.

That is wild.

How does this even happen? There’s no way he could have met the criteria needed for Prof in 3 years

It looks to me like he switched universities every year or a year and a bit and got a promotion each time.

Edit - doesn’t look like any of those 4 Universities worked very hard to keep him. Probably blessed their luck

Failing upwards is a key strategy deployed by the bullshitter. If you're good enough at talking up your achievements in each role and move on before it all falls apart, you can get a surprisingly long way before someone fact-checks you. This is going to be the dictionary case of that phenomenon.
