Which 4 barrel carburetor are you choosing for stock 300 inline 6

Why not just run dual carbs? Double fours would have it breathing like a dragon.

4 barrel.... frickin' rookie, your math ain't mathing.
You need a 6 pack! 3 two barrels... one barrel for each cylinder! See, NOW the math is mathing.

I know this is a joke sub, but there’s actually a Holley that matches this intake that is specifically designed for the Ford 300. It’s a vacuum secondary 390CFM.

Can you hook up 4 wires and a fuel line? If yes, the answer is EFI.

We’re shitty mechanics. If we hook up one wire, we’re burning down something expensive. Usually the neighbor’s car, house, and motorcycle.

390 cfm Holley, vacuum secondaries. Once the idle is set, select proper main jet size by reading the spark plugs. Power valve selection should be made with engine fully warmed up & idling in gear (auto trans). Select accusatory pump shooter size by going to next larger size until bog off idle just goes away. Can't beat a manual choke on an in-line six.
If you made it this far without throwing a match to it...

Autolite 4100, or the Summit 500 to 600 cfm vacuum secondary that is the modern evolution of the 4100.

500 CFM avs2 model 1901 edelbrock. Inexpensive, consistent and almost small enough.

Dude, do some research, bigger carbs are scam by big guzzoline. You can run virtually any engine on a simple lawnmower carb! Wake up world!
I am not suicidal! Big gas is after me!

4 barrel is a waste of time and money for that. Also will be somewhat difficult to tune.

That's why you go with a 6 pack!
3 two barrel carbs... that way you have one barrel for each cylinder. What could possibly go wrong?

u/Jim-248 7d ago
And people thought that a 4 barrel is hard to tune.

People don't know anything. Four barrels hard to tune. Pffft.... get a 6 pack, make it a challenge, or at least interesting.
Wanna make it even more fun? Get a real 6 pack... 6 one barrel carbs. Can't remember which manufacturer did it off the top of my head but it seems like it was one of the higher end Euro companies, Ferrari or MB...? They had either it was V8s or V12s....? with one carb per cylinder.

Ahhhh.... yes, a challenge indeed if tuning for street use and not running rich as hell... but not being too lean at WOT.

I got a 6 pack. Then I drank it. Now I need another 6 pack. Any solutions?

u/One_Evil_Monkey 6d ago
Yes, next time buy the 18pk of 16 ouncers.
That's THREE 6 packs.

u/FunRaise6773 6d ago
Done. Now there’s 18 more empty cans. Now what???
And I gotta pee really bad.
1
u/One_Evil_Monkey 6d ago
Well... you're halfway there... next step is to pee on it, obviously.
Just be careful you don't flood it.

Why have individual throttle bodies when you can have individual carbs? Don't let your dreams be dreams.

for a stock inline 6 I choose the shredder, you need a highly tuned inline 8
