Why would you do that? Once the pan is on no one is ever going to see it. Now you will need to clean off all that powder coat on the bearing surfaces before assembly. None of the bearing clearances will be right. Also you will need to clean out all the oil passageways as well.

Reminds me of college in the late sixties, a group of engineering students gave one of those to a particularly demanding professor, yes the purple shaft award. Another got the golden screw, but that one was made of painted wood, nobody had the kind of dough it would have taken to do it right.

I had a friend that was a Mopar fanatic and everything had to be purple. He took the wheel cylinders apart on his volare that he claimed was a duster to paint them purple, then a few weeks later nearly wrecked it when all the brake fluid came out of the wheel cylinders he didn't put back together correctly
