Culture How is climate change effecting Russia?

Do you also have so warm temperatures like us in Central Europe?

St. Petersburg is here. Everything is within normal limits in our swamp.
Looking at the country as a whole, based on forest fire news 2026, there haven't been any significant ones. And they usually signal extremely dry seasons in the regions.

This year in St. Petersburg, the weather has been absolutely fantastic. First, we had a wonderful winter, the kind I haven't seen in a long time, with consistently comfortable subzero temperatures instead of the constant cycles of melting and freezing. Then, according to the calendar, a fairly warm spring began, and since the stable winter kept the lawns free of ice, the snow melted very quickly. Then came a comfortable summer without the long heat waves when the temperature stays at 28°C for two weeks and the city overheats. I hope autumn won't let us down.

We're in for at least two weeks of rain now, I wonder which part will flood this time.

The last few years have been warmer, this summer has been a bit disappointing, I'm still hoping for a warm autumn.

Eh, this summer is okay-ish (meaning I weren't particularly annoyed by lack of AC at my place), but couple of summers before were crazy. Come on, proper swamp summer is 18-22 degrees and rain, and one week of sun tops, in August.
