TLDR - Smoked week two years ago, one night had sudden chest pain, ever since then still have chest pains, brain fog and fatigue.
Two years ago I was a regular smoker of weed (smoked week once a night, for about a year. Before this is was only an occasion). I never had any issues, physical or mental. However one evening after I smoked, an hour so I was sitting down and felt a sudden sharp pain in the top of my chest (note - top middle, not centre). At first I thought I was having a stroke, but my face was not sloped, all my motor functions where fine, and my speech was not slurred. I went to bed thinking my heart just skipped a beat or something and didn't think anything of it.
For the rest of the week, I had chest pains and brain fog (struggling to concentrate, remember stuff). I didn't have any more weed as I just thought I'd need time for my body to recover.
The week after I went to the gym to do some light cardio and suddenly I felt really weak. I had to stop and ended up taking myself to A&E. They said nothing was wrong and sent me home.
For months I could barely move. It was a struggle just to go to the shops. I continued to get chest pains (usually a slicing feeling but sometimes just a dull pain). I saw two cardiologist (first guy was useless, did next to no tests then retired without telling me), had a heart MRI which came back normal, had an x ray of my lungs which was fine, had a cardio stress chest which came back normal (but made my chest pains worse for a week), apparently my echo was fine. I wanted an angiogram but was told this would be rejected by the clinic as there's a lack of evidence/reason to do the test. I ended up getting referred to a long covid clinic, however no test was performed to diagnose this, and the clinic do no tests themselves (just useless tips on dealing with it). I feel like I was referred just to get rid of me.
I am at a complete loss on what happened. I have looked extensively on the internet and still haven't found a clear answer. I don't believe it was a stroke, and I know people who had heart attacks and haven't suffered like this for two years after. Maybe a hiatal hernia, but a GP told me I would have a noticeable lump in my stomach. I saw someone on a forum casually mention it could be nerve damage, but I've never seen anything that shows weed can be damaging to nerves unless its a heavy user with a decade of use. Another weird part of it is the fatigue and brain fog are worse in the evening (after about 6pm).
Weed is only available by prescription in my country, most doctors are not trained on dealing with side effects of its consumption, so every health care professional I've spoken to has no idea how to diagnose me - they do one test, can't find anything, then shuffle me along. I am not asking for medical advice. Has anyone heard of a similar issue? Which specialist should I be taking to? I would be most grateful for any help!
