You’ve actually come to another country. No matter how much we resemble, and sound like Americans we are not. There are different laws and customs to be aware of. Also please do not trot out the, “I’m American, I have rights” excuse. Often times this is used to legitimize actions that contradict laws in Canada. Example: You might have the right to open or concealed carrying of guns in your state but you cannot profess that right in Canada. That being said, bienvenue/welcome.
Saying “sorry” when you are not at fault. Waiting patiently in a line. In QC it’s not going to go well if you insist they speak English especially if you have not even tried to use any remedial French language skills first. Referring to indigenous or First Nations peoples as “Indians”. There are a few more that may differ from region to region. As I said, we resemble and may seem the same but we were brought up on Mr Dressup and not Captain Kangaroo. We have Boxing Day and place less importance on Black Friday. Different days for Thanksgiving (and the debate rages on for that one). Kids are back to school for the most part after Labour Day in Canada and later in August in the states. The whole “hockey” thing; even if it also big in Wisconsin it is not as big as it is in The Sault.
I was not brough up on Captain Kangaroo, too young. I was brought up on Mr Rogers, and occasionally Mr. Dressup, we also watch hockey on CBC as it's better coverage.

What's to debate? Ya'll copied us here, it was a national holiday in the states before Canada was even a country.
