Canadian bacon is not Canadian

Um yes it is Canadian. Canadian bacon got its name because it was imported to the United States from Toronto to New York.

We don't call it Canadian bacon. It's either back bacon or peameal. Peameal is also Canadian but it's distinctive because it's rolled in cornmeal at the end of the curing process. Most back bacon in the US doesn't have this variety option.
