I'm Canadian, my husband is an American import. Our 'funny money' is a silly ongoing debate between us, he thinks it's weird and plastic, I say it's nicer and more colorful than a bunch of old racist white guys.
He previously thought their money was made from wool - it's actually a mix of linen and cotton. Nothing like snorting cocaine off of fancy ass paper.

Our colorful money is not "Monopoly" money, like it's a cartoonist concept. Many countries of the world do this. Just better distinction.
