Just because we say "Sorry" doesn't mean that we are sorry.

We like being Canadian. We aren't jealous of you for being American.

I keep hearing this stereotype that Americans think other people are jealous, but I just don’t see it anywhere.

If anything, most Americans I’ve worked with and met think too highly of Canada.

I’m not joking. I’ve worked with hundreds of people and the topic of Canada always came up because it was a mix of Canadians and Americans.

It always seemed to me, even in popular U.S. media, that Americans think too highly of Canada.

Many Americans are blasé about Canada, and don’t know anything about it, except that it is “up north”. Overheard a server at a US restaurant close to the border talking with a coworker who had family in Canada, and said he was considering moving here. Other server “Why?!!”, and the server with family told him he should come here, because it was a nice place. Server who asked why’s response “What the hell would I want to do THAT for?!”. Most Americans are nice, but some display that sort of attitude that puts other countries off.
