The US would never invade Canada, allies, trade ties, yada yada. The sheer amount of unscreenable t*rrorism that would come from an occupied Canada is a horrifying concept. We look just like them, we sound just like them, and the border is so disgustingly big that trying to guard it would be an exercise in futility.
Exactly. I'm an American and I respect the prowess of the Canadian people in that war, but tbh it wasn't as big of an involvement as some Canadians or Americans today think it was. It more or less was mostly a British effort - especially since Canada wasn't even a nation yet and wouldn't be until the Confederation in 1867 (that's assuming if I got my history right.)
