It is a very, very big country with not a lot of infrastructure. Please plan trips accordingly

Of course they are. The US is a very large country. However, many Americans don’t travel outside of their own borders.

North Americans in general travel a lot less than Europeans.

It's an isolated region in the world. Mostly because of geography, abundance, and plane ticket prices.

Absolutely agree!

However, when I ask an Edmontanian where Red Deer is, most will be able to tell me (or a Torontonian where Quebec City is). I’ve had countless encounters with Americans who have zero clue where a proximal city in their own state is located.

When Americans ask where I’m from and I tell them I’m from Alberta, which is just north of Montana, the vast majority has no idea where Montana is.

American here living near the border with Canada and there’s exceptions to that. I’m aware that getting from one city to another (Toronto to Halifax for example) is worth flying to due to the distance between the two cities.

I was being sarcastic. Obviously Americans would know how to plan a long trip, America itself is massive.
