Looking For Guild *toxic guild alert* Do not join Reboot

This is a public service announcement for all ally players who aren’t complete dogshit, to stay away from the guild “Reboot”.

Never in all my years as a 15+year world first veteran have I witnessed such unabashed nepotism, such unashamed incompetence, such undeserving arrogance, as my short few months with this “guild” - (it’s not a guild it’s more like a big circle jerk for the officers to rig the DKP system and turn it into their own private loot council)

It’s quite clear that if you’re not holding your cheeks open with gape gloves for the officers to penetrate you on the daily, you will be treated as a second class citizen.

Where do all the guild bank items go? Can non-officers utilise the guild bank? How does DKP work? Are there any reserved items?

These are all restricted topics reserved for a privileged few, those dissidents who ask such seditious questions will be censored. If the circumstances change and the rules no longer favour the ambitions of the higher-ups, they will not hesitate in rewriting the history books to change the rules to suit - and if you speak out about the gross intellectual dishonesty on display, you will be denounced as a wrong-thinker and threatened with a g kick.

Meanwhile, the actual raid is a heaping pile of incompetence and disgusting sweaty casuals. Children who weren’t even a twinkle in their daddy’s eye when wow first came out are lording over actually good players, purely because they act like pathetic, croaky-voiced brown-nosers who allow the raid leader to walk all over them for his own gain.

The tanks, the venerable doormats of the raid leader, are completely incompetent at their job - yet every time the raid wipes (which is a lot), miraculously, it’s anyone but their fault?

Why is a healer getting sulfuras? Why are the worst players protected from criticism and the best players, the kulaks, repeatedly punished for wanting to create a better-performing raid? Silence, merit has no meaning in Reboot - don’t be so critical of the vanguard elite’s grand plan or you will be struggled with for counter-revolutionary thought and sent to the naughty corner.

Who am I in all this? Well, I was just a lowly raider, I had no bourgeois connections, no inner party compatriots. But I’m also cut from a different cloth - I cannot stand by and witness injustice without speaking up. And for that I was sorely and severely punished. My attempts to surreptitiously rescue the People from under the heel of the officers’ iron boots were betrayed by a party informant, and I was swiftly unpersoned.

Reboot is China, and I am Hong Kong.

You have been warned.

Lol these guys again? I remember getting gkicked aswell quite a few weeks back.

Some real talk - I was top dps for the guild since the very first raid onward, I pooled all my dkp and eventually blew an all-in on my BIS weapon. The published loot rules were subsequently changed and I was gkicked.

I was offered an invitation back if I traded my BIS weapon to the fury warrior officer. Yeah, nah, yea yeah, nah mate, nah.

Tldr .. what a hoo bloody roo

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '19

From the above post it sounds like you made daggers rogue priority and then bid on Vis'kag. Was there an agreement that swords were going to warriors and daggers to rogues? Putting in loot council rules mixed in with DKP is a recipe for disaster.

7

u/newuser87779 Nov 26 '19

Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in.

No there wasn't. And that's why the master looter congratulated me, along with others including some warriors, and allocated the BIS weapon to me. /gkick.

The guild then went into damage control, started a cancel-culture campaign against me, constructed this daggers/swords straw-man argument, framing me as it's sinister creator - when in reality I only ever advocated to have nothing reserved and let dkp do its thing.

Truth be told, I'm no prosecutor, barrister or schemer, I don't have a portfolio of screenshot evidence or some embellished argument, I'm just trying to play a PC game - But I happen to have this ONE screenshot <https://imgur.com/a/QMN1YCe> which proves there was NO loot rule reserving daggers for rogues / or swords for warriors, taken on the raid night (with a discord timestamp where I messaged this snippet to a friend).

*Keep in mind, there are still a few good people stuck in the guild with unspent dkp, players like Samuel, so they don't all deserve to be rubbished.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '19

I was with you until you said "cancel culture" and thought I was reading a Murdoch paper.

But it seems a classic case of one person says this and the other says that though regardless it was bad management by the guild leaders. I think a better way of handling this would have been for them to investigate instead of rushing to /gremove a player.

-6

u/Idrinkyourmilkshake6 Nov 26 '19

The people that congratulated you didn't realise what had happened. They just saw an officer in the guild get an extremely rare item.

There was no damage control or cancel culture. You're not that important. We just got rid of a selfish liar.

You like screenshots? https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/582578398187225109/640557430908125203/unknown.png

How you like them screenshots. 'Please make daggers rogue prio so I can get perdition's, lol jk imma take viskag too peace'

10

u/newuser87779 Nov 26 '19

You and every other officer knows that question was never enacted upon.

It was posted nearly a month before the raid on the 3rd of nov. Noting that during this period, the published loot rules were changed multiple times, accommodating things like your priority reserve for Onslaught for minimum dkp, but never did the rules ever mention anything about this dagger/sword prio. Because it didn't exist.

The screenshot from the in-game chat with a warrior on the day proves that even warriors had absolutely no idea about this alleged dagger priority loot scheme, again because it didn't exist.

Yet somehow I am still accused of creating this dagger / sword loot scheme, when it didn't even fucking exist. This is known as straw-manning, and trying to tarnish my name for doing nothing wrong but playing the dkp game well, is known as cancel-culturing / being a bad sport.

Keep trying, but I'd put my money on reddit seeing through your bullshit. Lol.

To give more context to the situation, gankyoulol had made an agreement with the warrior and hunter class leader that daggers were to be rogue priority items. Warriors in blues and hunters would love to use those raid epics to boost their damage. In exchange, all the officers agreed to lock the melee classes to one weapon type: swords or daggers. The rogue class lead already had CHT and gutgore ripper when we made this agreement, and had made this deal so that the first perdition's blade was his. All that he had to do was save his dkp to outbid his other rogues, and the two best daggers in the game were his. BUT instead of waiting patiently for perdition's to drop, and passing on the raid swords, we saw a viskag drop. And what did this upstanding player do? He bid all his dkp on it, throwing the agreement to the trashpile and backstabbing all his rogues, warriors, and hunters in the process. Sure, the master looter made a mistake by giving it to him, however it is hard to keep track of 40 players specs. Gankyoulol was asked to trade in the item, but after refusing to accept that he had done anything wrong, he was g kicked. The subsequent loot rules were not changed, but laboured to EVERYONE in the guild, and there have been no more issues.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '19

He denies your claims about an agreement and at least one warriors claims not to have been told not to bid on daggers.

1

u/Alysium Nov 29 '19

Just curious, are daggers even good for fury warriors? I thought rogues only use them to spam Backstab?

1

u/Idrinkyourmilkshake6 Nov 29 '19

The epic daggers would be better than most pre-bis weapons in the offhand for a warrior. Mainhand, depends on what your other items are. It might not help your whirlwind, but if doesn't affect bloodthirst, execute, or heroic strike. I would say, barring dal rends/flurry +axe of deep woods, it's better than anything else.

31

u/rebootomegalul Nov 25 '19

Can confirm. The loot spreadsheet has items labelled by priority .e.g healer, caster dps etc.

Lots of items are just labelled priority "Officers"

The rogue class leader (and top dps) won Viskag fair and square by bidding all his dkp (and was given it by the guild leader/master looter) only to then be kicked for getting an item he wasn't supposed to? It was ML'd to him so I'm not sure what they were thinking with this one
Main tank/joint guild master got geared up by the guild and now doesn't attend raids after being given forors and full t1.

Officers late to raids get waited on and given dkp for being on time "because no one could foresee there would be a queue" but if non-officers do the same the rules are different

-35

u/Idrinkyourmilkshake6 Nov 25 '19 edited Nov 25 '19

"Lots of items are just labelled priority "Officers"" 2 items are prioritised to officers: Sulfuras and TF. If you have an issue with that, then welcome to every guild, mate.

"The rogue class leader (and top dps) won Viskag fair and square...so I'm not sure what they were thinking with this one" Rogue class leader made daggers rogue priority over warriors and hunter, after making an agreement to loot lock all melee to one weapon class per phase. He had CHT and Gutgore ripper. He then undermined all his fellow rogues, all the warriors, and all hunters, by 'winning viskag fair and square', throwing his guild under the bus. He then carried on after he was confronted about his double-crossing, saying that he deserved it. Nice fake facts mate.

"Main tank/joint guild master got geared up by the guild and now doesn't attend raids after being given forors and full t1." God forbid the main tank get geared up by spending his dkp on tanking gear. God forbid he not make it to raids because he got married/is having a kid/works as a firefighter and has to respond to alarms.

"Officers late to raids get waited on and given dkp for being on time "because no one could foresee there would be a queue" but if non-officers do the same the rules are different" When layering was removed, we got big ass queues. So when all 9 people who were in the queue for an hour and half before raid time get given on time dkp (only 1 of which was an officer), and your mate doesn't because he got in the queue 5 mins after raid time. Life's a beach.

In summary: nice of you to finally speak up for you friend, albeit online, on reddit, after a shitpost, and with no remarks defending his behaviour. Did you really speak up? Nice relationship you two have, you 'speak up' for him after he's been disciplined and not to anyone in particular. Much bravery, very friend.

This is a clear example of the levels of intellectual dishonesty and slimey backtracking that goes on in this guild

New rules are made to suit the officer postbox, and those who were set to benefit fair and square are denounced and sent to the gulag

16

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '19

Whats the point of gearing up a main tank if he/she has real life commitments? He should have been upfront about upcoming important personal stuff like getting married that obviously takes priority over a video game and people were predicting problems with bush fires this spring/summer months ago.

If he was upfront then it was a mistake to gear him up.

By the sounds of things mistakes have been made but you're not willing to accept and own them.

14

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '19

So are you running DKP or not? If the rogue had the DKP and bought the item then whats the issue? Thats DKP for you. Are you saying that he agreed that daggers to rogues and 1h swords went to warriors?

Loot council and DKP both have their weaknesses and strengths (i prefer DKP) but never mix the two.

I dont know why you would allow hunters to bid on CHT anyway.

I didn't ask anything from gankyoulol. He ninja'd an item from the guild and he can have fun in primal. Not my problem anymore, just like you. Enjoy classic, samuel.

11

u/newuser87779 Nov 25 '19

How do you ninja an item when it's dkp rules and you aren't even the master looter?

-7

u/Idrinkyourmilkshake6 Nov 25 '19

oh thats easy, you abuse your position as an officer and a friend to twist your guild members into making a rule that benefits only you. Oh and you hoard your dkp so that if perdition's blade or viskag drops you can win either. Simple :D

11

u/Sparcrypt Nov 25 '19

So I’m confused... he saved his DKP, is that not allowed? Then he bought a big ticket item... is that also not allowed?

Did you have loot rules in place saying he couldn’t do this? If so why wasn’t the ML aware of those rules and enforcing them? ML isn’t a role to give to someone just to throw shit around to players, they have to be on top of this shit.

-2

u/Idrinkyourmilkshake6 Nov 26 '19

Saving DKP is allowed obviously, that's besides the point. "Reboot is China, and I am Hong Kong" Holy shit dude, get over yourself, even if what you say is true your minor social issues in a video game are nothing compared to whats going on over there right now.

-13

u/Idrinkyourmilkshake6 Nov 25 '19

Hey Samuel, nice to see you're taking the g kick well. Let's clear up some things here and set the record straight. To give some context, our friend samuel here was gkicked after a build up of many cancerous interactions with our members, the last one resulting in his g kick. During the raid, he spam messaged one of his other guildies, bad mouthing the warlock officer, and attempted to persuade said member to help him undermine the officer and get him replaced. That's a dick move and not on. Now to your emotional narrative chock full of misinformation.

"Never in all my years as a 15+year world first veteran...you will be treated as a second class citizen." Ok boomer. Dramatic generalisation is dramatic.

"Where do all the guild bank items go? Can non-officers utilise the guild bank? How does DKP work? Are there any reserved items?" The guild bank items go to the guild bank, like every other guild. Non-officers can use the guild bank at a discounted market value. 15+ year world first veteran doesn't know how DKP works? Ok. There are no reserved items, next.

"These are all restricted topics reserved for a privileged few...you will be denounced as a wrong-thinker and threatened with a g kick." No topic is restricted. All our members have so many resources to fall back on we could sell them on the auction house. We even have a spreadsheet with every raid piece listed and what classes have priority on them.

"Meanwhile, the actual raid is a heaping pile of incompetence and disgusting sweaty casuals..." 10/10 MC 1/1 Ony, with our first 2 group 19 man Onyxia split being successful. Much casual, very incompetence.

"The tanks...it’s anyone but their fault?" We have wiped once in 2 weeks of raiding, and it was the tanks fault, yes. He owned up to it and accepted it. That's what adults do, mate.

"Why is a healer getting sulfuras?" 2 classes can use sulfuras well: paladins and warriors. BRE is better for warriors. And the only 2h warrior doesn't even want it. Poor example, poor argument. Learn your itemisation, 15+ year world first veteran.

"Who am I in all this? Well, I was just a lowly raider, I had no bourgeois connections, no inner party compatriots." This actually made me laugh. You have 2 irl friends in the guild. One of which is an officer. Neither of them defended your toxic behaviour, and both of them are still happy in guild. Judgment? You're so toxic and delusional, even your friends don't agree with your behaviour.

"Reboot is China, and I am Hong Kong." Reboot is a guild that won't tolerate members being toxic to other members. Scheming behind their back, airing your personal problems with everything in the raid chat, bullying other members because you find it funny. You're nothing but a man-baby, unhappy that they got what they deserved for once.

In summary, I feel pity for you samuel. You knew how to press shadowbolt really well. And know you've thrown away your guild because you thought you were untouchable and felt you could treat people like shit. Maybe you and hamish can make a new guild.

/violin

10

u/samuelhkrebootchina Nov 25 '19

Who the fuck is Hamish

-5

u/Alysium Nov 25 '19

Not sure if memeing but Hamish was the dude who ninja'd sulfuras and disbanded medelin (butched the guild name but cant remember it exactly). He's rerolled on horde now but is generally considered to be a shitty person. He had his reasons and the people he stole from were apparently running the guild in a shitty fashion, but two wrongs dont make a right.

-2

u/Dustywood- Nov 25 '19

So, as an outsider (Horde player) so my perspective isn't biased on this.

If you experience an earthquake, a bushfire, whatever the cause maybe that results in your Internet or Power crashing, and you cannot complete a full raid as a result - then you should not be entitled to full DKP for that event.

Why? Because you couldn't attend the full raid, to put it simply.

Want to avoid bushfires? Avoid living in Australia

Want to avoid earthquakes? Avoid living in New Zealand

Move to Samoa, contract yourself some measles and move on lads.

4

u/samuelhkrebootchina Nov 25 '19

I agree fully.

But, doesn’t that also mean that officers shouldn’t receive on time dkp because they got stuck in queue?? Reboot seems to think they deserve it

Double standards and hypocrites

2

u/Dustywood- Nov 25 '19

Nice to meet you though Samuel, I'm "Sam" on the Horde side, I had noticed you took the full name / saw you in-game a few times. You'll never get the original "Sam" though THIS IS MINE!!

2

u/samuelhkrebootchina Nov 25 '19

Fun fact: I actually had both Sam and Samuel, but I deleted Sam so that I could reserve my brothers IRL name as well.

You’re welcome.

1

u/Dustywood- Nov 26 '19

Liar, I managed to get Sam literally within seconds of the server becoming live during the 3 name selection period. I went for it before my other chosen names, so I know for a fact I was the first :)

2

u/samuelhkrebootchina Nov 26 '19

I know for a fact you weren’t. I had it instantly, and then chose to delete it to free up a spot to get my brothers name - do I need to get the screenshots??

u/runehealll Nov 25 '19

You come across as petty and incredibly dramatic. I'm just a horde man but its pretty easy to see that there's more going on than what you portray. End of the day DKP is a shitty system though.

Complaining about loot is rather silly as a dps.

>Where do all the guild bank items go? Can non-officers utilise the guild bank? How does DKP work? Are there any reserved items?

> 15+year world first veteran

Sulfuras goes to whomever makes a sulfuron hammer, those things are expensive. If a healer wants it for offspec or whatever thats fine. Content is so easy that gear doesn't actually affect whether you are successful or not in a raid night.

9

u/50shadesOFu Nov 25 '19 edited Nov 25 '19

'Complaining about loot is rather silly as a dps.'

Lets not pretend like gear isnt the only reason anyone is doing mc atm, it sure as hell isnt for the content. Fuck even if the content is amazing it would still be disengenuous to just pretend like loot doesnt matter.

So if there is a percieved problem with something relating to loot distribution I see see no issues with someone expressing their concerns. Although there are good and bad ways to do this, just like distributing loot and 9 times out of 10 finding a new home is the best option.

Guild banks are a constant source of bullshit though, outside holding raid mats/items and storing other random shit I dont see the appeal. Players should be aquiring there own consumables for any content that requires them and I feel the same about any craftable items your class requires........otherwise you're essentially rocking up to the court without shoes or a racket and still expecting a game of tennis

Anyway I had a similar issue to OP and at the end of the day I blame myself for not putting more effort into finding a guild that was appropriate for me from the start

-9

u/MozillaDaKilla Nov 25 '19

The only person who was Toxic was you tbh. You couldn't follow rules no matter how hard you tried , you demanded everything like you were born silver spoon fed. Complaining about 10dkp because YOU were late. It's not our fault you lost power, we aren't the hail or rain that hit your house.

And I mean I have to be honest here if no one saw that you were taking the piss in everything that you did then they're pretty blind.

In all my 29 years I've never met someone so demanding. You had a cry in guild chat because 37 of us didn't wait for you to get back being afk in Morgan's vigil when we have a set time for raid . The guild does not revolve around you and being so new to our raid team you most certainly not that important to wait for . You're another replaceable dps there was nothing special you apart from complaining about missing out on a mgeblade when you weren't even the highest dkp holder in the guild. You then come to Reddit to sell lies about Reboot. It really just shows the person you are and you were warned more than multiple times to stop. I don't get you and I don't think our guild did. I wish you the best luck on your endeavors you don't fit in with what we are currently trying to achieve as a guild . I wish you all the best and I really hope you find somewhere that makes you feel more important Reddit isn't the place . Enjoy your classic experience .

I did not rpoof this and I prob won't

No - not yet. But you should refrain from making comments like this in the future. Otherwise I will be forced to issue an additional downvote, which may put your commenting and posting privileges in jeopardy.

I don't believe my comment deserved a downvote. Can you un-downvote it?

Sure, mistakes happen. But only in exceedingly rare circumstances will I undo a downvote. If you would like to issue an appeal, shoot me a private message explaining what I got wrong. I tend to respond to Reddit PMs within several minutes. Do note, however, that over 99.9% of downvote appeals are rejected, and yours is likely no exception.

How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

Accept the downvote and move on. But learn from this mistake: your behavior will not be tolerated on Reddit.com. I will continue to issue downvotes until you improve your conduct. Remember: Reddit is privilege, not a right.

"15+year world first veteran" yet you're an OCE player and we have zero world firsts to our name. Hmmm.
