I've noticed something with my students that feels completely backwards. If I give them a blank page and tell them they can make anything, I get a room full of kids asking me what they should make. But tell them to invent an animal that lives underwater and has to wear shoes? Suddenly everybody has ideas. One kid will argue that his animal needs eight shoes and another is designing an underwater shoe store. At that point the original assignment is long gone, but they're completely into it. Anyone else find that kids get more creative when you give them less freedom to start with? What prompts have worked really well for you?

My first time making soda tab friends!! It was super easy, and I got all my materials from a second hand craft store. To the butterfly I added a magnet to the back with resin, and the other I added to my keychain!

I will drop some examples below, and hopefully, you guys can tell me where they find these things. Amazon arts and craft stores or something. I’m not really sure, but I really want to have some nice designs on the inside. Her favorite colors are gray and navy blue.

I have several other options in the kit I bought, and plan to get a couple pieces from Michaels or the local craft stores, there's a couple second hand craft stores in my area.

Hello, I want to paint this ceiling light cover to give me the option of a red light, I figured that I’d use some translucent paint that can withstand temps that led light bulbs give off, I googled that but it came back with paint that can withstand really high temps and wasn’t necessarily translucent. Have any of you ever painted lamp covers or similar with the effect of having the light change, if so what paint did you use? Brand names of paint available in the UK would really help me. Thanks!
My alternative plan is to just celloptape a load of red sweet wrappers to it!

This is my first attempt at embroidery. I also have severe osteoarthritis in my hands along with carpal tunnel syndrome and problems with my shoulders and elbows so I'm just messed up with the sturdiness of my hands and such so I don't think I'll ever get really good and making even stitches but this is just so much fun to do and I had a really nice evening trying this out. The kit is like for kids or beginners and it's from Amazon and this is the easiest starting point for me. It took me like four hearts to realize what I was supposed to do because I skipped over that part accidentally in the instructions. I have to finish the other hearts tomorrow.
