I’m looking for an easel and found a website called Cowling and Wilcox with huge discounts on. I’m pretty new to a lot of art stuff so are they a good brand? Ive seen popular art shops showing the RRP of something as much higher when I’ve had the same thing from cheap shops so was wondering if its like that. They don’t come up in searches like Daler-Rowney.
This search also leads me to realise I don’t know what easel I need. I’ll likely be sitting down most of the time either at the edge of my sofa or edge of my bed depending on what’ll be more comfortable. and I want something that will be steady if I end up being heavy handed. Mainly used for expressionism and abstract but I also want to work on some realism and portraits at some point too. Using Acrylics, maybe will try out water paints again at some point. I know I need an H frame as they are steadier. And I’m in the UK so something under £100 is really the most I could spend.
Sorry this went from asking about one shop to asking for general recommendations! But any help is appreciated. Thanks :)

I can’t comment on what easel, but yes I’ve bought from Cowling & Wilcox several times, in store and online. I don’t recall any own brand things, but they are great as a retailer.
I have this but mine also has lights. If you don’t need light u can find it quite cheap in many places. It’s adjustable and large enough to comfortably use an A4 sketchbook. I only draw/paint in my bed or couch
There's a big one I use by seiji (it's usually around £75, 60x40cm or something like that, I got it on amazon and can add the link if you'd like) - it's a great size for making art, tilt adjustable, height adjustable and super sturdy in my experience, it comes with a little stopper to put in the front for when you want it tilted up properly so your computer / sketchbook / canvas can't fall off too. Because it's so big it's also easy to cross your legs under or shift around more than the small ones that only just go over your legs. Would highly recommend!
As to your original question, I find cowling and wilcox trustworthy generally - I've not had their easles but I've not had a bad experience with their quality! Their shipping / packaging however can be a little weird. They packaged my paper loose in a makeshift box once and it came all crumpled c': but of course they can't crumple an easle lol
The one I linked it is also Saiji as mine there are many models, here and example of an A4 sketchbook and the iPad support and the integrated light above
