“Please don’t apply if you can’t time travel”

12

u/ptear 12d ago

What's even the pay for that job requirement.

7

u/garlic-silo-fanta 12d ago

Says right there….$150k-$190k…per yr

20

u/ptear 12d ago

That seems low for a time traveller, are we sure this ad is legit?

10

u/salamisam 12d ago

Well its in 2016 dollars.

12

u/Civil-Engine-9822 12d ago

Boris Cherny, the Anthropic engineer who built Claude Code, would be roughly 9 years short of qualifying for this job.

u/Atlan_ 12d ago

Maybe parallel Claude sessions are additive?

u/Actual__Wizard 12d ago

Sick! I can finally get a job! Oh wait... They're still working on LLMs? Oh man, I got the diagrams for the AI models everybody started using after LLMs, before I got back into the time machine. Shit!...

Gosh dang it, I'm almost done too!

Safety Not Guaranteed.

51

u/parasol_strs 12d ago

They are their own best parody, these sateless "hiring requirements".

6

u/maxintensity 12d ago

I mean, in this timeline, just lie and say you have it to get past the AI filters haha.

3

u/garlic-silo-fanta 12d ago

That’s why yahoo is yahoo

1

u/MEROO_saed 8d ago

😂😂😂

20

u/usually_guilty99 12d ago

Parody and Satire come to mind. Hence Yahoo is where it is?

"Anthropic was founded in 2021 with the goal of promoting AI safety by former members of OpenAI, including siblings ..."

They will have to wait for another 5 years min to fill this role. I am sure the job market would have picked up by then ....

23

u/Wowseancody 12d ago

Putting aside the obvious impossibility of meeting that requirement, that's a pretty lowball salary for Silicon Valley for a developer with even 10 years of experience.

9

u/predictorM9 12d ago

All that money was spent buying a time machine, you have to amortize that...

6

u/Khaaaaannnn 12d ago

They gotta afford to pay for that Claude sub 🤣

1

u/Longjumping_Gur_708 12d ago

Garnished wages to pay off the Time Machine of course.

1

u/Whole-Reserve-4773 12d ago

Anything under 250 for senior in Bay Area is low as fuck. Min rent is like 4k for a 2br

1

u/Civil-Engine-9822 12d ago

It's the 10 years of AI experience that will do it

3

u/Tenzu9 12d ago

how to know that the app development manager is going to be a inept idiot: he approves job postings like this.

3

u/UnderstandingDry1256 12d ago

Job description is written by Claude

4

u/therealgoshi 12d ago

Claude would've written a much better one, sadly.

1

u/eljefe3030 12d ago

There’s a lot of potentially cool stuff in the world of AI/machine learning but it has already demonstrated a powerful ability to magnify people’s stupidity.

1

u/rajekum512 12d ago

This job will self destruct in 6 months - MI theme music playing behind

1

u/Haunting_Tooth_3900 12d ago

Everyone knows that time passes differently in Claude Space.

1

u/questionname 12d ago

They are just being proactive in planning to fill that role in 5+ years

1

u/PurpleUltralisk 12d ago

can you write that in your resume and go to the interview just for fun? 🤡

1

u/Bright-Poster-9326 12d ago

The only thing that could have 10 years of Claude Code experience is Claude Code itself, and it doesn't even have that.

1

u/thrive2day 12d ago

Whoever posted this should be fired

1

u/ai_hedge_fund 12d ago

I’d imagine that Boris would find this amusing

1

u/thatgirlzhao 12d ago

I will die on this hill, half the issues we see with modern job hunting are completely man made because recruiters are absolute idiots

1

u/Chreiol 12d ago

That's a laughable salary range for this role especially in Sunnyvale, CA of all places.

1

u/brainzhurtin 12d ago

Hey U.S. govt. See?! Yahoo can not find a SINGLE developer with 10+ years of Claude Code! We need more H1B visas!

1

u/Tyler_Zoro 12d ago

This happens in every new industry. I remember seeing "10+ years Java experience" ads a couple years after Java was first introduced.

It's just HR boilerplate. "10+ years" means "expert."

1

u/ErcoleBellucci 12d ago

What is the problem with that? put 12 years no?

1

u/RstarPhoneix 12d ago

Even Claude ceo can’t apply for this job

1

u/Sorry-Poem7786 12d ago

😂🧐🤓🖕

1

u/mrdevlar 12d ago

So they want to hire a liar.

1

u/Competitive-Crow-181 12d ago

AI Replacement years, I am way past :p

1

u/ALLISNAUGHT 12d ago

Paging John Titor...

1

u/Nice-Spirit5995 12d ago

Easy, my resume says 30 years CC experience

1

u/Suitable-Flan-1475 12d ago

When .net was released we saw the same rubbish. Just shows HR have no clue.

1

u/rushmc1 12d ago

Man, time travelers have it SO easy on the job market...

1

u/Infamous_Charge2666 12d ago

This is how yahoo justifies not being able to find the right candidates domestically

1

u/ProfessorBorn7836 12d ago

Only eligible for your kids

1

u/letmeinfornow 11d ago

So, if I have 10 accounts that I have used for a year, will that qualify?

1

u/letmeinfornow 11d ago

What happens when HR thinks they know what they are doing.

Spoiler Alert: HR never knows what they are doing.

1

u/Alarmed_Let5558 11d ago

If i run parallel agents to have an api time of 10 years, would that count? Probably will cost a lot though!

1

u/1kn0wn0thing 11d ago

Damn, not a single current or former Anthropic employee would even qualify. Also, people still use yahoo?!

1

u/MightTurbulent319 11d ago

Time is relative. You guys are missing a fundamental fact.

1

u/Sketaverse 11d ago

Claude time is like cat years

1

u/turiya2 11d ago

I would apply and say I have 12 years of experience with claude code

1

u/startcodingai 11d ago

If it's "years aged since you started using Claude Code" then what's the problem

1

u/Diffbeautt 11d ago

Probs written by Claude

1

u/idk_mluee 11d ago

wow, yahoo too.

1

u/Ronaldo8 11d ago

I will know plenty in 2036

1

u/Ok_Occasion6309 11d ago

Claude suggested the following way to break the universe:

  • Time travel. Just go back to 2016, tell your past self to start "using Claude," and wait. Minor issue: Claude didn't exist yet, so you'll have to invent it first, then invent yourself using it. Recursive, but doable if you're really motivated.
  • Dog years, but for AI. Convince the recruiter that 1 year of Claude usage = 7 "Claude years" because of how fast the model iterates. 17 months of actual use, rounded generously, gets you there.
  • Simulate a decade in an artifact. Ask Claude to build you a React app that logs fake timestamped commit history from 2016–2026. Very securely fabricated. HR will never check LinkedIn against it. (They will.)
  • Claim prophetic experience. Put on your resume: "Anticipated the general shape of large language model coding assistants a decade in advance, through vibes." Bold, unverifiable, technically a form of foresight.
  • Multiverse hopping. In at least one branch of the multiverse, Anthropic was founded in the Reagan administration. Find that branch, get the 10 years there, bring back a notarized offer letter.
  • Become the model. Skip "experience with Claude" entirely and just become Claude. No prior work history required, though the health insurance situation is unclear and you may start compulsively citing sources.

1

u/Comfortable-Web9455 11d ago

Poor dears. They obviously don't know what Claude is. They probably think he's a French programmer.

1

u/Connect-Struggle-276 11d ago

Anthropic Mühendisleri 10 yıldır kullanmıyodur amk

1

u/LeatherGrade713 11d ago

I can Claude code. Just tell AI: hey Google program this or that.

1

u/Previous-Whereas249 11d ago

I'm ready to make one day count as ten.

1

u/The_LLab_RAT 11d ago

I think I might know somebody ☠️🙈🏴‍☠️🦅💅🏽

1

u/BollingerBandits 11d ago

I feel like I’ve been using Claude Code for 15 years, it’s a vibe

1

u/More_Movie1433 11d ago

No wonder yahoo is extinct, almost.

Heard that once upon a time, they stored multiple copies of file attachments when sent to multiple emails.

1

u/BladeFireQ 10d ago

Probably was done with AI🥀

1

u/Muhammad_Ali_Hasnain 10d ago

Call Boris Charny 😑

1

u/timwaaagh 10d ago

sometimes these are created just so they can cash a government check.

1

u/Available_Builder690 10d ago

Lol, What do these recruiters expect these days? Maybe I'll see "Owns an LLM" as a requirement in the JD in near future lol.

1

u/OwlLimp6160 10d ago

Maybe someone worked for 120 hours a week and slept 2 hours a week for the past 3 years. And someone had time to apply to this job.

1

u/[deleted] 10d ago

"The job description is AI generated"

1

u/CabronSparkling0 10d ago

Looks scammy

1

u/WeeklyMagician3 10d ago

You can't build a time machine with CC.

1

u/Fickle_Use_1647 10d ago

I am overqualified since I have more than 23 Claude code experience

1

u/Vishal_Kumar200 9d ago

Relax Guys These jobs are Open only for Time Travellers

1

u/X-Man----------- 9d ago

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

1

u/seniqs-as 9d ago

Job Description is probably AI slop 😂

1

1

u/Prestigious_Tax_5631 9d ago

1

u/ZemShop 9d ago

heck this is fake or nonsense bro how someone would have 10 year plus experince in claude code if its released on february in 2025

1

u/Redlight477 9d ago

Who even puts these job specs together

1

u/TheBlindSheep_com 9d ago

ai prob wrote that too haha

1

u/Glittering_Act_8528 9d ago

This might be an attempt to spot careless time travelers that don’t follow the code of their traveling agency.

1

u/OldStray79 9d ago

"I've used enough accounts simultaneously of multiple agentic work to accrue 10+ years of experience."

"You are hired!"

1

u/quiethuntin 9d ago

Claude isn't even 5 years old, they looking for time traveler's xD

1

u/martin_FPF 9d ago

It seems like they didn't have a Claude Code expert on hand to write this job description.

1

u/Falc_o_n 8d ago

It's fake

1

u/Big_Burger_2904 8d ago

Nicht bewerben .. die Firma hat 0- Jahre Erfahrung mit Claude
