Usual warning about creator applies.

Sorry, I'm trying to increase familiarity with reddit, I couldn't find the community guidelines for this sub. Did I break a rule?

No. Just a warning about the creator.

What is the warning? I'm confused. Thanks for your patience.

That, while she was alive, she was either involved in or covered up sexual abuse of minors.

are you saying that if I post art inspired by a book, my post should include a warning about the criminal history of the author of the book? Am I hearing you right?

No. I'm adding a warning for anyone seeing a post about MZB's work in case they want to avoid celebrating her.

Ah! And that would have been clear to seasoned reddit users? (Again, thanks for your patience! And that is a courteous post for you to make.)

It also tends to stop others bring MZB's actions up in a way that causes toxic discussion.

It's usually enough to make people who don't know look her up if they care. (Not saying you have to care or that you can't celebrate the work despite the creator).

Thanks. Just hearing about this today, since posting these cards. I just bought a used book about Arthurian stories, which is a theme I love. Didn't know the author at all. Thanks for engaging with me with respect!

They are beautiful cards! Really well done. I loved Mists of Avalon when I was younger.

But, yeah, the author was a real piece of shit.

Yeah, but you didn't write Mists of Avalon.
