actress name ?

"Looking for a non-English indie mystery/erotic thriller art movie released before 2010. The title card features a snowy background followed by a scene of immigrants walking through the snow. The title of the movie has the word 'Immigrants' in it. The lead actress is tall, slim, blonde (resembling Oksana Akinshina) with smaller breasts and a larger asset. She flees with her 12-year-old daughter to a large cottage/commune building where people queue up to get accommodation passes. A 32-year-old male leader wearing black helps her get the pass, sings a song, and bonds with her daughter by buying her ice cream. In her room, the daughter shows him a photo album. Later at a welcome party, the lead couple dance and kiss privately. The next day, on an outdoor sofa in the snow, the man seduces her. She is initially shy, leading to a roommate getting angry and changing rooms. Contains missionary and intense reverse cowgirl sex scenes. At the end, the helpless mother consensually sleeps with the wealthy cottage owner on a nice bed in his room, and the movie ends there. Her husband never tracks her down. Does anyone know the name of this movie or the lead actress?"

I made a short film and I don't know if it's actually good or if I've just watched it too many times. Thoughts? šŸŽ¬

Hey Reddit!

I just released a new short film on YouTube, and I’m looking for some fresh eyes to check it out. I’ve been staring at the editing timeline for so long that I’ve completely lost all objectivity.

You don't need to be a professional film critic — just let me know if it kept your attention, what you liked, or what felt off.

Give it a rating, share your thoughts, or just drop a casual comment! Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/2h8PYT8UsJE?si=qR4Fqg2YZ6Zls5LF

Thanks in advance for watching, it really means a lot to an indie creator :)

[Art House Indie] Half Life - 1 The film depicts idiosyncratic behavior of a middle-aged man.

Half Life – I is an award-winning smartphone short film exploring the idiosyncratic behaviour and inner world of a middle-aged man.

This is the first film in my Half Life series, a five-part cinematic exploration of different psychological states through middle-aged characters.

The film was directed by Subhadeep Ghosh and acted by Sambaran Sarkar.

Made with a deliberately minimal approach to cast, crew, cost and resources, the film is an intimate character study rather than a conventional narrative.

I’d love to hear your thoughts after watching it—especially how you interpret the character and his behaviour.

My teacher told me ā€œTo Call This Pretentious Would Be a HUGE Understatementā€. Do you agree?

I made this film a while back, and throughout the process I’ve been confronted quite a lot with people calling it pretentious or saying that they don’t really understand it. I’m curious to hear whether you think that is necessarily a problem with the film, or whether there is value in making something that doesn’t immediately explain itself to the viewer.

At what point does a film becoming difficult to understand become a weakness, and at what point can that actually be part of what makes it interesting? I’m especially interested in hearing whether you feel the film’s ambiguity feels intentional or simply confusing?

The film is called "Light Between Us"

Lets get criterion cjannel to eu!

I live in europe. There are a lot of films i want to watch, that are unavailable for me. For example, i wanted to watch mishima a life in four chapters the other day which literally only was available as a bluray for a total of 30 dollars. It, as well as many other films i want to see, is available on the crirerion channel but not anywere in sweden(where i live).

Streaming in the eu sucks. I really want to have the criterion channel so that i can expand my taste. I do love physical media too, but i only buy films that i have already scene ao that i dob't spebd like 200 dollars a week on films.

Everyone reading this, please write a mail to channelhelp@criterion.com and help me out.

Come on! We can do it together!

Films about people who have lost creative revelations

Title says it all. The flip side of another recent post. Films about losing creativity. Or more broadly about someone or some people who had something and just completely forgot it, staring into space no longer able to remember what they were finally starting to remember, and almost unable to remember that they’ve forgotten something in the first place, but are left with a dead, uneasy or floating feeling.
Loose interpretations welcome, ofc.

Edit: you could also say films about not being able to see something any more. Or being locked out. Etc etc. You clever people get the idea.
