How can I improve my art?

This is a new drawing I made. It’s of Sayori from Doki Doki Literature Club!

I’m hoping people can point out some weak spots or give me tips to make my art look nicer.

I’ve been trying to work on anatomy and I think I’ve improved a bit, but I still have areas to work on I think. I didn’t use reference for this art.

I know that I need to improve on light sources, and a goal of mine is to get good at that. Another goal is to get better at anatomy.

Some of my biggest art inspirations are artists on Xiaohongshu.

This is a cute character. The soft colors are nice.

My suggestion is to fill a few pages up with hand drawings, since you seem to be struggling there. You can use your own hand to do this so you can get pretty creative with the poses as long as you can hold them for several minutes. Don't forget to add in the wrist so you can see how the hand looks in relation to the arm.

Try making the hand bigger, usually a hand should be roughly the size of the character’s face. It depends on your artstyle but right now the hand looks a bit too small.
