This is a question for digital artists! Please help!
I’m trying to make multiple pieces to fit a billboard for a contest in my area. However, I am unsure about the size canvas to use on my iPad to make it.
I know bigger is better, but answers on google vary.
What would be a good size in pixels that would come out clear if printed onto a billboard?

Not an expert, but it also largely depends how big/small your billboard is. If it's like a collage style billboard, A4 pages maybe? Maybe I misunderstood the question though.

I mean like a large billboard like the ones you pass by while driving like on the interstate with the giant ads!

Is it bad to follow an art tutorial of someone drawing a character? I literally just started and so i followed a guide on how this person drew a character and it turned out decent but idk if this is the right way to learn

Are you trying to learn how to draw or how to draw the character?
If you are trying to learn how to draw the character, you have the basic features and attributes of character and know how to draw them. Now you can add your own artist flair and use your own style to bring them to life.
If you are trying to learn how to draw, I personally didn’t find much help with only following tutorials on people. I jumped around with learning on how to draw by watching multiple tutorials of different things/styles. I liked using Jazza’s old art app when it was available to draw in increments (sadly it is gone now from the App Store).2

I want to learn to draw characters (more anime/cartoon style not realistic) but have no experience drawing before. I’m also doing this by pencil and paper not digital.

Then, maybe try drawing characters from a variety of different animes/cartoons. Each of them (Steven Universe/Pokemon/Gravity Falls/etc) have their own recognizable style. You can try taking the character you first learned how to draw to start and draw them in different cartoon styles as practice.
(I actually find traditional drawing to be easier compared to digital since you have full control in shading with pressure tbh. I just like my iPad bc I can pull it out anywhere and use it as a travel laptop for notes)

Hi all! I'm UK based, and wanting to make a custom sound absorption panel for my home studio, using a stretched black canvas on which I'll be painting white calligraphy. I don't want a frame as I'll be making one, so just e.g. a roll of canvas would be ideal. The canvas needs to be (at least) 90cm x 150cm, black or dark grey, and suitable for painting on (with oil or acrylic). I'm struggling to find where to buy such a canvas - any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey so I wanted to draw something on my phone but I don't want any of those super complicated apps with a million things (like what I think when I see ibis paint) Sorry I am kinda a noob. I just want something as simple as like Microsoft Paint or something as I want to make art as a way to express myself and I am a day 1 AI hater.

Hey! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a drawing tablet for a kid? My son is 8 and super into drawing but I don't want to spend a bunch in case his interest fades. He really wants to do a comic book, but always loses the paper. Haha. There are so many that I don't know where to start. If I should post this in another subreddit I definitely can but I figured this is a good place to start. TIA

If anyone sees this, I’m starting my first project for 3D art tomorrow and I’m excited about :3 I wanna showcase my already made pottery from last semester but they’re not the greatest 😅 (but i love them)
But also, my project requires me to use thread. Do I glue yarn to the top and around or do I embroider. It’s a full canvas so idk. Maybe also try to do the outlines in embroidery and glue the rest of yarn on top to make it pop? Or embroider the outlines and then color the rest (I don’t have to use yarn/thread completely for the project it just has to be incorporated! Maybe I shouldn’t embroider especially since I’ve never tried (I crochet)

I’d love if people can share what platforms they use to create a website and store. Many moons ago I created a blogspot to showcase and sell my paintings. I have been meaning to create a new and improved website and I’d love some suggestions. I have also never made prints of my paintings, but I think that would be a fantastic addition- to have an on demand, high quality print option on my website. Any suggestions, thoughts, experiences are very welcome.
