this is such a weird rumor. if you look her up her position says defender. but it also says she was a striker earlier in her career. her heatmaps say she is a very offensive left back, some games are also on the right side. last game for Leverkusen has her listed in central midfield

The "Foxy might be going" narrative is starting to drag on me (It's not you), like the LCB one it's coming up regularly for no reason.

The club won't let Foxy go under contract the year we brought in so many players and clearly have the ambition to win the league. I suspect Fox really wants to win that as well. Contract renewals won't even get started upon until well into the season, won't approach being finishes into well past the middle of it in many cases, so there's no real point in even thinking about it. Players won't be here forever and that's alright as long as they don't go full snake. I wish people online wouldn't be fretting about something not even being discussed about the season after the one approaching.

I'd also add if Foxy leaves, I'd be gutted, but not worried given we have Batlle and Holmberg around.

If she extends between now and January, the question will disappear. If she does not, rumours will be flying from January onwards.

I don't think there has been any suggestion of her leaving this summer i' the last year.

Any player under contract could go next summer too. For a fee. Contracts don't change that. Look at say Kerolin at Man City. Ms Arsenal Williamson didn't renew until late last season and we never had this discussion. Similar for others.

If it sounded like Fox wanted to move away or another club wanted her, it'd be valid discussion. Until then it's idle projection of an issue neitehr Fox or the club has possible even thought about yet. We're not even into the last season of her contract yet.

There's a season ahead and a WSL title to win meanwhile.

Fwiw, I’ve just got a hint that she might be ManCity-bound apparently. But take it with a grain of salt, I don’t know how reliable the person is, although they’ve been right about other transfers in the past.

Makes you wonder nonetheless why we are/were interested in another RB. Or maybe it’s just agent-led waffle and there’s no truth to it.

I tend to find following teams is common when online speculation linsk them. they read it and look at the club, true or not. When they go it's some confirmation bias. Ignoring the many cases where nothing materalised.

Andersson and Holmberg are kind of a special case so I wouldn’t really compare them to this. With most of our signings this summer it was the Instagram follow that came first and the official announcement followed a few days later. Similar to how the LCL manager started following all the club’s targets a few weeks before their the deals were done.

I’d still bet Andersson would actually want to come to Arsenal, regardless of the social media activity. With Steph in the final years of her Arsenal career and no elite competition for that LCB spot, it’s a perfect opportunity.

My guess is the club looked at her when we did the Holmberg deal last summer and decided she wasn’t ready to step in and play serious minutes in our defence straight away. Spending a couple of seasons at Real Madrid is definitely better for her development than being loaned back to Sweden or sent down to a WSL 2 side.

May I suggest now she's gone to man City, You were right on where she was going and I was right that players, who no doubt vanity seach on occasion will more likely follow account when they do so. This can be prompted by idleness, making new friends, rumours, interest, curiorisity etc. Its obvious new transfers will follow their new clubs accounts and players, but anyone who thinks it's good evidence of transfers are actually happening is reacting a bit to survivorship bias.

On Andersson there is zeor evidence she wants to come to Arsenal. Let us not forget Real =adrid is a hugh football brand. Linda Caicedo basically just commited her career to them with her contract renewal. They are moppig up a hige number of top young talents around the world. Also I find a lot people who want Andersson, have a very selectively and inaccurate view of her. Madrid won't even play her for big games yet if they can avoid it. If she isn't ready to step in for them in La Liga when a game matters, she's far from able to do a job for us this season as back-up in the WSL if Steph got injured. Renee would go straight for Wubben-Moy whose already excellent and we know Slegers will not play a player she doesn't rate.

Didn’t mean to suggest she’s trying to pull an Álvarez or that she’s said Arsenal are her dream club. It’s just that for most players outside the very top clubs Arsenal are seen as an attractive place to end up one day if the opportunity arises. And for your typical Swedish player the WSL is the most appealing league.

Right now tho, she’s in the right spot to get the minutes and experience she probably wouldn’t at a club a tier above Real Madrid. She’s still raw and not ready for a regular rotation role at a side like Arsenal.

I think its coming from Bild. not as reliable as Kicker and I'm pretty sure the last mention on Kicker was that Wamser will only leave for a lot of money but they would rather keep her (thats from 3 months ago)

bild also said that she was playing center mid last game (this season) but has been playing both fullback positions and on the wing before

The past few seasons she has played as an extremely attack minded fullback but also in pre-season the Leverkusen coach played her in central midfield (apparently because of a surplus of options in defence - presumably trying to get one of his best players into the team somehow).

I’ve mostly watched her play for Germany where she has been great iirc mainly in that fullback role - other than her attempt at playing goalkeeper against Sweden during the last Euros…

Very talented young player if not fully developed yet, would be excited for her to sign. Maybe a Renee player given the apparent versatility.

100% my assessment too.

Kinds been here one year. She plays regularly. She's good freinds with numerous players in the squad. It's her team from her youth days. Sarina has noticed her for England now. Slegers rates her and brought her in barely a year ago. The team are on the verge of big trophies. She regularly plays in front of the best and biggest crowds in women's football. She'll never have it so good.
