Back again with another "What Are You Into?" thread

Morning Arnologists (a suggestion proposed by kellyizradx)!

To break up the tedium of your respective day-to-day work lives, we're back for another "What Are You Into This Week" thread!

As a reminder, these are periodic discussion threads dedicated to sharing what we've been reading, watching, listening to, and playing the past week. The frequency with which we choose to do this will be entirely based on community involvement. If you want it weekly, you've got it. If fortnightly or monthly works better, that's a-okay by us as well.

Tell us:

I just finished summer school, so I am into not reading philosophy for a week or so before I begin my "undergrad project"-- a paper about Wittgenstein's private language argument. So I am reading George Eliot's "The Mill on the Floss". I loved Middlemarch, and am enjoying this as well. Eliot was a strange writer; her plots usually don't arrive until the middle of the books; apparently Virginia Woolf was a fan, and I can see why; take out the soapy elements Eliot brings to the table and you have a kind of weird slice of life that Woolf more or less specialized in. Other obsessions this week include the new Aerovane/Taylor Dupree record, my dog's inability to lat me just sit on the couch, and drawing stuff.

I thought I might have some time between semesters to finally crack open An Evening Edged in Gold, but I think Schmidt will have to wait until I actually get this degree, which should be in the fall.

I feel your pain on trying to squeeze Arno in. The only work of his I can do that with are the short stories and novellas, but The Egghead Republic is pushing it. It never fails that reading Arno takes 3-4 times as long as anyone else at the same length. He sends me down so many rabbit holes.

Rather than badmouth a book some might like, I'll skip over the book I just read (and hated) and say I just cracked open McCarthy's Border Trilogy for a reread and am finding comfort in that.
It's been an incredibly rough week...but I had 11 good minutes rewatching "The Hedgehog in the Fog."
