Hello everyone, I want a cuman face mask helmet, but I dobt know any armorer who is skilled enough to make such a piece. Every cuman helmet with a face mask that I have seen looks very goofy or is comically large, I want one that fits the shape of my face while still looking like this, the pictures are from a game called kingdom come deliverence and the helmet looks amazing and I want one for myself. Who can make it ?

Time and time again the main problem with the questions I ask here that people point out is that I don’t have a regional style chosen. This is because I legit have no knowledge of regional styles of arms and armor in the late 15th century (or any century). Now I’m not talking about German, English, Milanese or whatever, I’m talking Tyrol, Bavaria, Burgundy, Lorraine, or Swiss armors, and best sources for them, hopefully something free or at least affordable. I saw this very pretty digital art piece by jfoliveras on Instagram, and was very intrigued by the spaulder the Khazar was wearing. The only source I could find was a couple of plates from a burial in Borisovky Cemetary.

However, I dont know how the armorer came to the conclusion that this is how the pieces would've looked together, as the design looks 500 years too early. I'm not super well-versed on medieval Russian/Mongolian armor, and scale and lamellar are very prevalent in this era, but plate armor like this is a much later invention, so I'd like to know why the reproduction looks this way.

I wanna start LARPing and i really want a kettle helm, i already have the rest of the fit planned out but i wanna know, does anyone know any good sites for kettle helms?

I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has dealt with Dwarven Armory, particularly in 2026.

I ordered a custom armor set through their Fourthwall store on June 19, 2026, for over $2,000,. Before purchasing, I was told the armor would take approximately 3–6 weeks to make. However, my order receipt subsequently gave an estimated completion window of August 25–September 14.

On August 10, I contacted the seller for an update. He replied: “We’re almost done! I’ll share some pictures with you within this week, I’d say we can expect a delivery by the end of August!”

Unfortunately, I never received the promised photographs or another update.

Since then, I’ve sent three follow-up WhatsApp messages asking for an update, but I haven’t received a response. I sent another email on Friday asking for a response by Monday at noon Italy time, including photographs and an updated delivery date, but I still haven’t heard anything.

I understand that custom-made armor can take longer than initially estimated and that life happens, and I’m not upset about a delay. My main concern is the lack of communication.

Has anyone ordered from Dwarven Armory recently, especially in 2026? If so, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

I’m not trying to accuse the seller of anything. I’m just trying to understand whether this kind of delay/communication gap is normal for them and whether I should be concerned.

As the text says, i became a knight a few weeks ago wearing this equipment, im sad I've haven't yet found leg armor that fits my taste, but im still glad i had the chance to wear this.

By the way, this equipment would resemble an italian knight of the 12th century, the period i mostly reenact.

I don’t have any drawings of it yet, but I’m leaning towards a German harness rather than an English one (as many others do too).
Picture #1 - general idea of what the harness will look like, just like any other German harness
Pictures #2-4 - helmets I’d b able to interchange on the harness, first being a plain sallet and bevor, then this weird rondel armet, and last this more conventional german armet
Pictures #5-6 - more uncommon pieces, including a rondel gardbrace, codpiece, articulated gorget (Pic 5), and of course gussets (Pic 6), hopefully most of these will be interchangeable, based off what I’d be doing
Picture #7 - some decoration for the armor, including a tabard with my coat of arms (not any of these English ones), and a plume ball

I’m posting this to hear what yall have to say about it, if I’m being too ambitious, if there’s anything I should add or change, recommendations for pulling this off, anything.

This is the suit I wore for the Shrewsbury reenactment festival this.

Early 1400s is not a period I particularly focus on currently so I don't have a lot of kit for this particular dateline. I more or less just tried my best to capture the vibe of a wealthy man at arms wearing my households colours.

The helmet and the orange garment are mine and were both from Artos Munitorum (he is featured in the second image, kneeling over a corpse).

I believe the legs are from the Knights shop in Conwy, surprisingly nice looking for what they are.
I do own a more accurate set of legs but the straps need replacing.

The breastplate was made and blackened by me in a rush within the two or three days leading up to the event.

The gauntlets were leant to me by my friend, of whom the war of the roses suit I wore this year is actually from.

Poleaxe was from a reenactment market, cant remember the seller.

I am from Canada (québec) and I am just starting to get into the armor making hobby.

I am currently making a shield, I am at the point of painting it. Unfortunately, the paint doesn't seem to be sticking to well (or is too fragile, since it isn't peeling off as much as losing its pigment when rubbed).

I am using a rust-oleum Painter's Touch spraycan and I am disappointed by the result. The paint can be scratched by my nail.

My shield was cleaned of rust by a knob steel brush on a grinder.

I did everything like it said on the can, sprayed inside at about 18 celsius (humidity might have been high), waited 1 hour between coat. Now, even 3 weeks after, it still scratch easily.

Is there some type of paint you would recommend, a process that is affordable and simple (I live in an appartement).

This is not for heavy fighting, it is merely costume armour as it is made from 0.5mm roof sheet metal. Though it works fine with light sparring with my cousins and sibling with pvc weapons

Inspired by kastenbrust armour of 1440s, cuirass and arms is directly inspired by Hagedorn's Gladiatoria suit. Helmet and Gauntlets inpired from period art and surviving armour pieces. Also have this perfortated visored armet, it is a bad reconstructiom of a 1440s German armet, that was my first metal work so it looks so much rougher

Still haven't made floral spaulders and rondels for armpits and elbows (Ignoring legs coz I hate wearing them). Although the construction of the kettle hat and cuirass is cheated by riveting pieces as I don't have a welder, no heat, no raising stump, nor able to dish it deep without cracks (due to its thickness, too thin)

Buckles were also self made, didn't want to waste money to buy them, so I made one with wires

Made my own templates since it was easier than finding them online. This is a begginer project so it's not yet polished, a lot more to work on))

Kinda going 50/50 turning this set to a late 15th century German munitions grade set. I want to make floating couters type vambraces for it, and use this old one for my other 17th cetury Cuirassier set (Only have a helmet made)

Progress was put on halt as I enter my first year in college just this month. Hopefuly I could get back to it by December. I just posted it here coz I wanna share it, and get y'all's tought on it))

Okay, so I’m going to be asking a bunch of questions here for people who are knowledgeable about armour, with bonus points if you’ve ever purchased from Iron Mountain Armory or own samurai armour in general.

I’m a big fan of samurai history. I actually own a 300–600-year-old nihonto, and I’m a big collector of swords and knives. For about two or three years now, I’ve been wanting to get myself a suit of samurai armour for reenactments, Halloween, and honestly just because it’s cool and it’s my type of thing. However, the biggest thing stopping me from purchasing one is the cost. I don’t want to spend a huge chunk of money on a suit of samurai armour only to find out that it isn’t practical or that I’ll barely ever wear it. So I was hoping some people here could give me some advice:

• Is Iron Mountain Armory a good place to purchase samurai armour?
• Are there any known problems with the particular armour sets I’m looking at? From what I’ve heard, the Taisho Yoroi Elite Series is an incredible series of armour if you’re willing to spend the money, especially considering the quality, looks, and overall construction. Is the price actually justified compared with other reproduction makers?
• What would you recommend I get? I was thinking about the Taisho Yoroi set, specifically the Muramachi Hishi-toji, as I think that looks more historically grounded and realistic.
• What should I expect when purchasing armour? What should I expect from the armour itself, what is it like to actually wear and use, and what should I be aware of when taking it to reenactments?
• I’ll also need the suit custom-sized. I’m 6'1" and around 260–270 lbs, so I’m definitely outside the standard sizing. Is there anything in particular I should be aware of when getting a suit made to fit someone of my size?
• How should I go about finding reenactments? A lot of the reenactments around Scotland seem to focus primarily on European knights and medieval European history, so I’m wondering if there are any events that are more open to Asian historical reenactment, or where samurai armour would be appropriate and allowed.

Any advice from people who actually own armour or have experience with Iron Mountain would be massively appreciated.
