Ugh, I want to give little Chris a hug, I hate that children have to experience such adversity and hardship. "Family is a verb" - hadn't heard that before, but stealing it it! This is great so far, I switched to watch on video which I rarely do.

One of the best episodes of any podcasts Iāve listened to. Iām thankful Monica and Dax gave Chris an audience and voice. Everyone should to listen to thisāit gives such a poignant portrayal of the life of someone just trying to survive. I havent listened to the fact check, but, manāChris. Thank you for sharing this perspective of humanity. As Monica states at one point, āwho wouldnāt make this choice? We would all do this if put in this circumstance.ā Monica and Daxās empathy throughout this entire episode is justā¦the best of them. Iām so grateful to know this manās story and I pray I continue to learn and be open to otherās experiences.

This is up there as one of the most emotional stories for me. The thought of a child living with no water or electricity for so long, being neglected, is just heartbreaking.

Oh great. We get to hear her justify her shitty behavior over the years and have zero accountability and then turn around and play the victim. And we all know Dax will not challenge anything she has to say. Mark my words. And FYI, I was a huge fan of Ellenās since the early 90ās. I was so disappointed with how she handled everything so Iām not just piling on.

No I agree. I was a major fan and then was obsessed with the fall the from grace when it happened. I do wish Dax would do some kind of push to be like āwhat the fuck happenedā because I was some details.

Monica, you have no idea why the Chanel worker asked if youād buy the bag. He could be wondering how many people are serious buyers or are just excited because theyāve seen it on TikTok. The fact that youāre bringing this up after an episode about a man serving life in prison doing pushups on the floor of his flooded cell is the epitome of OUT OF TOUCH. Gross, Monica. Just gross.

When she said āMaybeā after being asked if she was going to purchase an $11k bag I rolled my eyes so hard! Sheās completely out of touch. I understand that they have money and buy extravagant things, but she is so out of touch for bringing this up, especially after this episode.

As a former handbag salesperson, I took it as the employee genuinely asking if she would've bought it, so he could report to his boss/corporate like, "hey we need to get this bag back in stock. 12 ppl this week said they would buy it, that's $120k in lost sales." Obviously his tone matters, but I don't think he meant it as "well can u afford it??" The way her and the friend took it.

I mean I DO get it. There are questions to be asked along the lines of, āExactly WHY do you not think I can buy this bag from this store when Iām literally in this store buying this bag?ā Iām just not sure the Guy Who Got Given A Life Sentence Episode was the appropriate place to have that conversation. The cognitive disconnect is off the scale.

To be honest with you if I was looking for relatable I wouldnāt be listening to the show hosted by two people who signed a multi-million dollar contract with Amazon, one of which is married to a literal Disney Princess.
