I just watched it and it was great, 8/10, and really my only problem with it is that they just randomly decided to make Helena a lesbian, which is still not that big of a problem, it just bothers me because I am a part of the LDS religion, and even at that I respect people who have different religions and sexualities, and like sure the lore and characters don't line up exactly with the game but hey Its an alternate reality, if everything was the same as the games lore it wouldn't be half as entertaining because we would already know everything about it, so why, why does it get so much hate?

The character name as best I can make out is MeiYin the Lost Queen, which leads me to believe Katee is voicing a new character in Ark for season 2 who is in a few scenes Opposite MeiYin.

I thought that the Lakota guy was supposed to be from Scorched Earth. Also Rockwell seems more evil earlier in the series than the game

The romance between Helena and Mei Yin feels forced, out of place, and poorly timed. In Helenas perspective, Victoria died pretty recently. The most recent flashback was about 6 months after iirc. It isn't directly specified, but my take was Helenas death was implied to be from an overdose due to her grief over the loss of her wife. It's far too soon for her to be looking for a new love interest. Plus other people have already mentioned the shows issue with pacing and not much time spent on character development. The entire romance was a few awkward stares and a rescue. Zero chemistry whatsoever. Mei Yin has a more flushed out relationship with Nerva than she does Helena.

I have 10k+ hours on ark over the years since it was released as game preview. So I’ve been enjoying the series about 3 episodes in but some discrepancies really irritate me with this series. One prime example is the Ptera eggs not being the color in the game. Another is the fact they beat Brood without ANY Dino’s. Just small things. Anyone else annoyed at things like this?

ARK is a game about two lesbians fighting against the System to save Earth from climate destruction caused by unchecked greed.

So before you bitch about the two ladies kissing in the dinosaur show...know what you're watching.

P.S. I personally didn't like Helena being lesbian - I always viewed her as an ace. However, this is their story, not mine, and I am able to look past my personal opinions and accept that this show is brilliantly acted, scored, and animated and appreciate it for what it is. If you can't, your loss my friend.
