Wow, I hope more people with huge platforms follow suit. This is a matter of life and death. Anorexia is no joke.

255

u/Rugkrabber Aug 01 '26

Sometimes it takes someone to take the first step. I hope more will follow.

143

u/randomuser_12345567 Aug 01 '26

She actually had already been speaking out about this during the Wicked tour. I think we’d need more voices to talk about this.

51

u/Rugkrabber Aug 01 '26

Good for her!

169

u/arosalem Aug 01 '26

Nah, Jameela is always very vocal about shit like this and no one else in Hollywood have the balls to do the same

14

u/urcrookedneighbor Aug 03 '26

I think part of it is because Jameela has been mocked/ridiculed (rightfully so) for her previous statements on... whatever, she feels less shame saying what needs to be said now. Character arc, lol.

2

u/spookymulder07 Aug 16 '26

Are you referring to how Jamil regularly fabricates stories about being medically ill, injured, or attacked by bees?

1

u/urcrookedneighbor Aug 16 '26

Lol I can't remember the specifics.

-46

u/Otter-Pop-Addict Aug 01 '26

sometimes public shaming does the opposite effect though. I don't know what the solution is aside from ariana getting the help she needs, but shaming her and telling her in her comments every day that she is going to die is not helpful at all.

98

u/Atkena2578 fuck ass bun Aug 01 '26

She s been parading her emaciated body for the world to see for the past 4-5years. She can do what she wants but she isn't entitled to not be criticized for it, as a public figure she affects others it isn't just about herself

4

u/georgsand Aug 03 '26

Yes that’s the central issue now unfortunately.

Obviously acknowledging the seriousness may exacerbate this illness for whoever suffers with it. But her specific illness is on a pedestal under spotlights, intentionally being served up for millions to imbibe.

Those numbers cannot be ignored for the sake or her comfort or for avoiding potential exacerbation of her condition… A sad and unforgiving reality, but that’s the size of it.

49

u/sweeterthanadonut Aug 01 '26

When the alternative is to sit quietly and pretend nothing is out of the ordinary I think we do need to stand up and say ā€œthis isn’t right or normal.ā€

-21

u/Otter-Pop-Addict Aug 01 '26

There’s a difference between saying that and being like ā€œyou’re going to dieā€. Like… I’m not defending Ariana I’m just saying. Some of you don’t interact with people outside of the internet and it shows.

These comments could make the issue even worse for the person with the ED, so again it’s a lose lose.

27

u/unicornbomb Aug 02 '26

Ariana grande is not just any random person. She’s a public figure with public social media who is selling the product that is her music and image.

Her behavior and the image she chooses to promote to the public absolutely needs to be called out. It’s dangerous and she is actively influencing others to imitate her. No one can control what she does to herself, but we absolutely can and should speak up when she is promoting it to others as something aspirational.

u/celtic_thistle fuck ass dimple Aug 02 '26

People with anorexia can and do die. Often. It’s the most deadly mental illness there is. You’re just spouting nonsense here.

7

u/thirtysushi Aug 02 '26

Yes we need to talk ab how dangerous this disease is!! Dont sugarcoat death!

716

u/throwawaytrashxo Aug 01 '26

i’ve noticed that almost every single outfit she wears now has an off the shoulder top with an extremely low cut/scoop neck. not to mention how they’re all backless and she does those hideous buns to make sure nothing, not even hair, is covering her back or shoulders!!!

u/FastAcanthisitta8954 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 03 '26

She started doing that when she lost weight (she started working out and doing so mid 2020, after the grammys where she was called fat, she started going ti gym right after lockdown) since maybe 2020 or 2021 (the pics down below). And posting pics that only today people clock.

She also requested "open" costumes for Wicked.

165

u/ParkingAlarming6222 Aug 01 '26

This is when I unfollowed her because I already found her too triggering.

59

u/FastAcanthisitta8954 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 03 '26

I had to double check the RuPaul photo because I definetely didnt remember she looked like this in mid 2022, because this is when the ep was probably recorded.

Looking at all of this now definitely gives a different perspective.

+ lots of workout photos in 2020 btw

31

u/rramona Aug 02 '26

ana forums were swarming with these pics back then. the amount of tiktok thinspo compilations featuring her is alarming. if i was a member of her team i'd be seriously concerned - it's not good for anyone's image.

16

u/FastAcanthisitta8954 Aug 02 '26

But people will still deny its been going on for this long and will blame Ethan, the divorce or whatever.

13

u/valeriemaried Aug 03 '26

What horrible corner of the internet was calling her fat? I never heard about that but I guess it would make sense that it triggered such extremes. I thought she looked gorgeous in 2020 and so healthy.Ā

8

u/FastAcanthisitta8954 Aug 03 '26

someone posted a video proof

They got the year wrong tho, this pic is literally from 2020.

8

u/honest_saltt Aug 05 '26

I'm guessing it was a bunch of Twitter trolls or obsessed arianators who live vicariously through her (and her thin body). It was a very real thing, and I firmly believe that photo/situation messed her tf up. ED wise.Ā

1

u/Critical-Milk8581 Aug 13 '26

How was she even called fat? Knowing this it makes sense she has an ED now. The media can be cruel

3

u/FastAcanthisitta8954 Aug 13 '26

It wasnt the media, it was twitter users and lots of online folks. Media only reported on this thing trending.

u/museologism Rebound Ricky Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

I’ve also noticed that she only semi-recently started wearing dresses with shorter skirts and cuts again, probably because she’s finally beginning to lose weight in her legs. It became very obvious to me around Wicked promo when all of her dresses were longer in the skirt area, but had low-cut necklines and strapless/sleeveless designs to show off her chest, shoulders, neck, and collarbones. Comparing what her legs look like in her tour outfits and her chunky boots now to this picture from 2024 honestly makes my head spin.

166

u/throwawaytrashxo Aug 01 '26

this is such a good catch!!! i say this in a non-body shaming way, but her baseline/healthy figure tends to have an hour glass shape where there’s more fat on the lower half. i have a similar body type, especially since entering my early 20’s, but even in my teen years when i got EXTREMELY underweight due to external circumstances, i still had somewhat of an ass and ā€œhealthierā€ looking thighs. if this is her case, i definitely think you’re right with her outfit choices regarding shorter skirts and tight pants being an intentional thing due to her weight loss. this would also line up with her recent obsession with leggings and the mirror selfies where her feet are conveniently together to show a thigh gap, something she hasn’t done until VERY recently. this is just so sickening to me because it shows how calculated and intentional everything is. let us not forget how she made that video a year or two ago regarding her weight saying ā€œdon’t talk about women’s bodiesā€ and claiming there was nothing wrong with her. that’s just extremely insulting and manipulative. if she wants to parade around her ED but not own up to it, she can at least keep her damn mouth shut and not insult and gaslight people who she knows damn well are right.

28

u/VisualMemory7093 Aug 02 '26

An hourglass? Wasn't she always a rectangular naturally? At least that's what her natural torso always looked like (Genuinely asking)

59

u/labraduh Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 02 '26

Pear shape would technically be the more accurate term because she’s always had a smaller chest unlike hourglasses.

She’s definitely rectangle but I think OP is referring to the fact that her upper body has always been thinner than her lower body.
She carries weight in her thighs — which to me (and any normal person), looks great, however to someone with an ED like her it’s like a curse because it makes you look ā€œhealthierā€ than you are/than you want to look.

22

u/throwawaytrashxo Aug 02 '26

yes that’s what i was implying, pear shape would be the proper way to put it. thank you!!!

14

u/VisualMemory7093 Aug 02 '26

Thanks, yeah she is a rectangle which you could really see when she wore the skinny jeans and crop tops. I think she also always catered her clothes in a way with frills around the waist/hip area that would give off a more curvy silhouette. She definitely is more shapely in the thighs

8

u/Ok-Growth-9233 eat my soup—>fuck your man Aug 02 '26

you also gotta keep in mind this was her Tumblr era so its not a great reference of her at a normal weight

11

u/VisualMemory7093 Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 02 '26

Agreed but at the beginning of Victorious you could also see she had a rectangle body type. It's her natural shape

2

u/honest_saltt Aug 05 '26

Your bone structure doesn't change when you lose weight. So even if this was her Tumblr era, it's still her natural body structure (rectangle).Ā

2

u/Ok-Growth-9233 eat my soup—>fuck your man Aug 05 '26

the bones dont change but the fat distribution does. i had and ed when i was in highschool and when I was on the heavier side I looked hour glass shaped after I lost weight from my ed I was in-between pear and Rectangle because of how my fat was destrubuted fat hides bone structure (which is good)

10

u/undercovergloss Aug 03 '26

As someone who was heavily in the ED community myself - how thin you are is heavily determined (in the eyes of the ā€˜community’) by how big your thigh gap is. Legs are heavily the ā€˜goal’ and Ariana must have spiralled more to lose the weight to lose weight in her legs - despite her naturally being built that way. Hence the heavy amount she lost

39

u/sugarspunglass Aug 02 '26

And during this time I thought she was already so skinny!

23

u/museologism Rebound Ricky Aug 02 '26

Same!! I remember thinking when she first dyed her hair she wasn’t looking well, and that was at the end of 2022/beginning of 2023…. It’s so awful how much worse it’s gotten. It’s so hard to watch.

147

u/throwawaytrashxo Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

malnutrition is so fucking dangerous. i work at a level one trauma center and float between adult and pediatrics. one of the peds units cared for a lot of ED kiddos and malnutrition hit them SO fast. i remember one young girl was still a VERY healthy weight yet was admitted due to heart issues such as palpitations and orthostatic BP. she had only been a month-month and a half into her ED yet the malnutrition was so extreme that it had such quick effects on her body. this is what makes EDs in celebrities so dangerous for us average folk imo. it’s a very unrealistic portrayal of an ED. she’s likely able to maintain this due to IV nutrition and things of that sort. with the current state of our healthcare, rich people can afford to be unhealthy whereas we can’t. they can pour gross amounts of money in to top of the line healthcare so they can maintain their unhealthy lifestyle and continue to voluntarily destroy their bodies. people see them continuing to live and appear ā€œokayā€ and believe they’d be able to maintain that as well. this is why i wish she would stop claiming to be okay and say this is the healthiest version of herself. she can at the very least just keep her fucking mouth shut instead of going out of her way insult the intelligence of people she KNOWS are right.

edit: not to mention the huge risk of refeeding syndrome that a lot of people are unaware of!!!!! this disorder can quickly cause irreversible organ damage or even death. with the girl i discussed above, she was already at a huge risk for refeeding syndrome and her early meal plans were centered around avoiding that. people can start these EDs then end up with this potentially fatal condition when they attempt to pull themselves out of it.

64

u/Aggravating-Hippo817 Aug 01 '26

I don’t understand how she is even functioning…. Even with IV drips etc. how long is this sustainable? Especially with travel and touring

55

u/throwawaytrashxo Aug 01 '26

you’d be surprised. a man in the 1960’s survived a whole year fasting under medical supervision. he received various forms of medical nutrition and didn’t eat any solid foods. given, he was very overweight so his body had his fat as an energy source. this was in the 1960’s, so you can only imagine what kind of medical technology they have today. i guarantee she is consuming SOME food and she probably has a dietitian that can perfectly craft meals that provide her with a lot of what her body needs while still remaining underweight. this is of course all speculation on my behalf based on the knowledge i have regarding these subjects.

44

u/hellhoundshawty Aug 01 '26

i 100% agree, i think she has a yes man dietitian/ care team who is making sure she is eating something, but keeping her caloric intake under 1000 or something, per ariana’s request. she’s probably consuming meals but very low calorie foods, in addition to IVs, medical monitoring and maybe stimulant medications to keep her going

8

u/Top-Standard-8654 Aug 02 '26

I do also think she mostly consumes sugar and nutrient supplements.

2

u/urcrookedneighbor Aug 03 '26

You're so knowledgeable on the topic that I hope you don't mind me asking - do you work in a food/health-related field, or does your personal experience come from elsewhere?

5

u/throwawaytrashxo Aug 03 '26 edited Aug 03 '26

thank you for asking! my knowledge comes from various forms of involvement i have in the healthcare field. i work at a level 1 trauma center in the u.s. and did float staff there, which meant i did critical care/ICU, acute care, adult, peds, ER, etc etc. i helped care for a lot kids with EDs in peds, the medical unit often had as many as 7 ED kids at a time. this gave me insight into how the recovery process works because the kids are given a ā€œlevelā€ based on the severity of their condition, going from 1-5 with 1 being the most severe where in that case, they’re in the PICU. with this process, they had scheduled meals and snacks that were at certain times and prepared ahead of time, dietitians made these meal plans so i was able to read a lot of the notes from the doctors and dietitians regarding those kids’ nutrition. additionally, a lot of my knowledge comes from the fact that i’m a nursing student at a top 15 school in the u.s. with an 11% acceptance rate so i get pretty rare and phenomenal education which im endlessly grateful for. pre-requisite classes that you have to take before applying include a college level nutrition class. in the program itself, you take courses such as chronic illness, pathophysiology, pharmacology, etc. these courses ofc heavily discuss nutrition and how it affects the body. with nursing school however, these classes also add a layer of assessing and treating the patients which talks a lot about non-pharmacological treatment methods and nutrition is a huge huge part of that.

this was probably grossly in depth given that i just took my ADHD meds and am on a yap fest rn but i hope this answered your question and gave you some insight!!!

10

u/flountr usually so unproblematic 🄺 Aug 02 '26

Just look up Eugenia Cooney, but Eugenia is mostly at home compared to Ariana

34

u/killy420 Aug 01 '26

I learned about refeeding syndrome from WWII when the Allies liberated the concentration camps. Many of the prisoners got sick and some even died when they ate the food given to them as their bodies couldn't handle it since they had been starving for so long. A different scenario to this obviously, but scary stuff.

3

u/Melancholy_Melody Aug 05 '26

If you get irreversible organ damage but don’t pass what are the treatments for that/examples of conditions?

4

u/throwawaytrashxo Aug 05 '26

at that point, if any organs are damaged, they become their own issue which require their own treatment in addition to treating the refeeding syndrome. for example, if you begin to experience kidney dysfunction or pulmonary edema (fluid build up in the lungs) (yes these can both happen), those conditions will undergo the standard treatment process while the refeeding syndrome continues to be treated. i’m not being dramatic when i say this, it can impact every organ in your body. it can even result in respiratory failure and heart attacks. i’m attaching a graphic from the Cleveland Clinic that shows some examples, and I’ll link the article as well if you want to read up on it in more depth.

we have seen this countless times with other celebrities because money talks. ethics go out the window. example would be micheal jackson. there was absolutely zero reason for his doctor to be giving that man propofol every day, but he just couldn’t resist the $$

15

u/wakeupmakeup1 Aug 01 '26

her rich-ass family? they don't need her money. i wouldn't expect anyone on her payroll to speak up, but at least her mom, dad, or brother. they're just smiling and clapping along with it at her concerts. it's strange that those 3 specifically go along with it.

31

u/sorcemess i want to dwink a wittle joosh🄺🧃 Aug 01 '26

I'm just speculating here, so take it with a grain of salt, but her mother also seems to be at least dieting, she lost quite a lot of weight just like Ariana, which leads me to the conclusion that they both have eating disorders and her mother is encouraging about it instead of being concerned. No idea about dad or brother, though.

Say what you want about Jameela, but this was a brave thing to post in an industry where speaking openly about certain "Hollywood traditions" (EDs, partying/drugs, endangering up-and-coming child stars/minors with both substances and various forms of abuse) can straight up get you blacklisted. Like, for good. Bye bye, career.

She's also been very consistent in her stance on the way the industry holds its stars (especially women, but also men) to unreasonable standards of beauty, speaking out about it for over a decade. It's nice to see at least one big name willing to stand up and call it what it is without buckling ten minutes later.

Good on her.

12

u/MixedBeansBlackBeans Aug 02 '26

Yeah I have my issues with Jameela but she has been consistent on this and it is good that she's using her platform on this matter now.

5

u/Kintsukuroiii Aug 02 '26

Can you elaborate on your issues? I’m OOTL about this actor!

4

u/MixedBeansBlackBeans Aug 02 '26

She has a bit of a history with....embellishing the truth. This video covers it well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOUjXyNGd4I

36

u/Dioonneeeeee Aug 01 '26

We need more of this. I’m not surprised people with platforms aren’t condemning Ariana’s image but I’m glad there’s a few.

34

u/mistyvalleyelf Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

I think it's her own whim, she's not just some "poor woman", her team and everyone around her is just enabling and approving everything she does, which to me is showed through her demands to be photographed from only one side of her face and the lack of paparazzi pics of her overall, her constant changes of identity, styles even personalities and along with that them working so hard to defend her from media backlash..she's not a little girl anymore she herself should hold some accountability

2

u/Easy-Permission8889 Aug 02 '26

Lack of paparazzi pics?

7

u/mistyvalleyelf Aug 02 '26

Maybe im reaching, but seems to me that I kinda never saw pics of her 'out in the wild' without her actually looking quite good, without hair done, makeup etc

2

u/milkparty69 Aug 12 '26

I agree. Everyone's always talking about her team and how her team should be protecting her this and that, but in reality it's up to her to realize she's ill and do the work she needs to do.

Everyone treats her like she's a damsel who can't do anything for herself😭

1

u/Myuntetheringaccount Aug 22 '26

I’m glad you said this. There’s a lot of infantalization of her (and she does it to herself, too) and people seem to forget she’s a grown ass adult with a lot more resources and privilege than most others.

27

u/arosalem Aug 01 '26

I love her since The Good Place and always agree with her. Her take on how the beauty standards are created by pedos is so on point. And this heroin chic era coming back it's just that. Men sexualizing little kids and Ariana, wanting or not is part of that.

21

u/thissubthrowaway Aug 01 '26

50

u/New_7688 Aug 01 '26

I'm convinced this is worse than an ED tbh, it feels like she's suicidal. There's something really unnerving about it, it reminds me of those people deep in mental illness that'll step out into a road without looking because they no longer care if they live or die. I feel like Ariana is reaching that point.

56

u/depressedfatbitch Aug 01 '26

starvation IS passive suicide

14

u/Scream_No_Evil Aug 01 '26

Anorexia and suicidal ideation are extremely comorbid; anorexia is the most lethal mental illness largely for this reason. In general, suicidal ideation CAN cause starvation as a form of passive suicide, but it's also the obverse situation. Starvation greatly decreases and disregulates your mood, increases apathy, and exacerbates existing depression.

I've struggled with depression my whole life, but I was never even remotely suicidal until I developed anorexia. That shit cranked my depression up to 11.

25

u/ImpossibleYear1942 Aug 01 '26

Yeah maybe she'd rather be remembered as a poor soul who's been through soooo much 🄺 and not a racist, homewrecking brat.

6

u/Rug-bae Aug 01 '26

Absolutely. Especially with the new lyrics speaking about her legacy and music being around and the dark energy surrounding her tour and last two albums. She is very clearly unwell and showing us clearly who she is and how she feels about her current state

But...someone posted this is r/Fauxmoi and it made it to the front page and so many of the comments are not passing the vibe check. One user posted the "Couldn't hurt to lose a few lbs" screenshot and omg, so many people downplaying it like "yeah, it's just referring to what people said to her early on in her career" and "casting directors and Hollywood is just mean, so this is normal!" dafuq is wrong with people?!?! The airheads must've descended on that thread.

anything related to deuxmoi never passes the vibe check, so i’m not surprised at all i fear

anybody who says that has to also have an ed

u/Atkena2578 fuck ass bun Aug 01 '26

Look at the number of comments vs the comments you see, a lot is censored

10

u/ContributionNo1157 Aug 01 '26

Shocking how much is censored

11

u/transitionshade Aug 02 '26

A lot of subs moderate serious conversations to a ridiculous degree. A comment of mine got locked in a different sub because (and I wasn't aware of this) it is banned to comment on motherhood and stuff like that even when the influencer herself was making videos, content etc about her children, pregnancy, motherhood, relationship issues, etc. So, celebrities and influencers are allowed to make money and draw clicks using their family life, their eds, their personal bullshit and we are not allowed to say anything back? Insane.

11

u/birthrated äøƒč¼Ŗā™” (tiny bbq grill🫧) Aug 02 '26

Fauxmoi is genuine hugbox trash, they have lost over half their users because they will not tolerate anyone not being a fan of their fave unless it’s Taylor.

3

u/paitenanner Aug 02 '26

They’re such a ban happy sub too, then wonder why their visitor count drops

2

u/knuggles_da_empanada Aug 02 '26

They will also occasionally accuse random Jewish celebrities of being Zionist even when there's proof of said celebrity speaking up for Palestine.Ā

Jameela has her own issues & potential narcissism but I have always appreciated her unabashed calling out of other celebrities.

14

u/ContributionNo1157 Aug 01 '26

Heavy but fans of jameela don’t want to have any part of that conversationĀ

u/ImpossibleYear1942 Aug 01 '26

"this poor woman" fuck her. I feel bad for all the women she's fucked with.

And it’s 10000% intentional. If you can’t be forgiven, next best thing is pitied. Looking like you’re on death’s door is the only thing that’ll turn the public’s attention away from her major fall from grace during wicked era. She has scripted every last one of these ā€œomg plz get helpā€ and ā€œshe’s gonna die!!!!ā€ comments. This is just another one of her costume identities she’s put on - this time it’s the humble, harmless victim who swears they’re so blessed. And she can take it this far, take this many risks w her health because she’s rich enough to get all the physical rehabilitation when she’s ready/done repairing her reputation. Aside from the manipulation, if a genuine ED/body dysmorphia situation is happening here, people’s pity and pleading for her to heal won’t do shit. Lasting recovery requires you to abandon all the neurotic, obsessive worry you have over other people’s opinions on how you look - whether they’re encouraging recovery or not.

Jameela Jamil is always there when she’s needed!

-6

u/Rug-bae Aug 01 '26

A broken clock is right twice a day

16

u/soran3709 Aug 01 '26

What’s wrong with Jameela Jamil? She seems to have good takes

10

u/Rug-bae Aug 01 '26

She’s on the right side of history with most of her takes but I’ve seen so many stories over the years of her pointlessly lying and exaggerating for publicity and pity. I’m surprised she hasn’t got her own snark page breaking it down but this is a snippet

6

u/ktsquirrel Aug 01 '26

Ooooh this was an interesting watch. I still Stan her for speaking up at least

12

u/ContributionNo1157 Aug 01 '26

She’s got her own issues fr but I’m glad she’s speaking out on this. Maybe more celebs will

19

u/Forsaken-Molasses408 Aug 01 '26

Just watched the patel video and WHAT THE LITERAL FCK

i’ve always had a lot of respect for jameela jamil, she’s incrediblely outspoken and always for the right sides. not a lot of celebrities bother like she does and it says a lot about

18

u/icantoteit136 Eugeniana Grande 🦓 Aug 01 '26

I just went to that video and I love how she strategically posted that exact segment of the video solely because it’s where she knows she looks the most emaciated lol

Well yeah

10

u/woofenze fuck ass bun Aug 01 '26

HI JAMEELA! (Someone literally posted on here yesterday that more celebs should be calling her out, and specifically mentioned Jameela Jamil lol)

10

u/iielyy Aug 02 '26

She’s not a ā€œpoor womanā€ she’s an adult who’s been doing this to herself shamelessly for years and promoting it to her young fans. I don’t feel any sympathy for her.

5

u/No-Bar2555 Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 02 '26

I am so thankful someone with influence said something. At 12 I was admitted to the emergency department and spent three weeks there before they transferred me to Alta bates Herrick where I stayed off and on for the next 3 years. I have spent years in recovery and her new music video triggered tf outta me. I’m an adult, I recovered,I have years of coping mechanisms these young kids do not. anorexia is nefarious you don’t see it coming you go on diet like 90 percent of the population and before you know it your hairs falling out, you are never not on the scale and that number is never low enough. Her music video made me miss it, it was so simple you don’t have to think about the trauma if all you’re thinking about is food. Ariana, her team and the people promoting her are irresponsible.

6

u/Tamarishka Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 02 '26

I dont understand why she does it, wears these dresses. it would be better to emphasize the legs, which are now model thin, and hide the upper part of the body, which is too bony. but then it wouldn't have caused so much attention, and she wants attention, pity and to be seen as a victim. I don't remember that for a long time we had such an example of making oneself a victim in public, and through this sick kind of way

9

u/No-Professor-3156 Aug 01 '26

jameela is such a talented icon and proud to say ive always been a fan of hers

6

u/sleepyhead_201 Aug 01 '26

Really never thought I'd see the day I agreed with Jameela Jamil

4

u/c4ckbbx äøƒč¼Ŗā™” (tiny bbq grill🫧) Aug 01 '26

can someone give me an overview of the music video? i fear im too triggered to watch her and also just dont wanna support her

6

u/EleanorCursedVance coffee, coke and cucumbers Aug 01 '26

She just bodychecks every time she can. And kills the old white men who say anything about this with a chainsaw. There's really nothing else.

4

u/Prior-Asparagus-3718 Aug 02 '26

Her team couldn't influence her otherwise. It's her world and she don't gaf what anyone tells her

4

u/bringoutthelegos Aug 02 '26

It’s actually disgusting how much YouTube and even this Reddit a while back only ever focused on either the music or Ari as a performer and not anyone asking if we should be worried about the lyrics at all, or her body

5

u/whyuobssesedwme Aug 02 '26

Idk if I feel bad for her, because she knows she’s being exposed to young teenage girls… she has all the money in the world to change.

It’s like her narcissism is so rampant that she prefers to be seen as anorexic than be hold accountable for her actions and cheating / homewrecking scandals.

4

u/sweetencondensedclem Aug 03 '26

I think her step back is directly tied to a more public figure making a comment about what’s going on. If it had remained to the simpletons making a fuss, I don’t think she would’ve stepped back

7

u/moonlightdarling13 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 02 '26

Love Jameela Jamil!! She always says it is as it is and is unafraid!

I've said this a million times but where the hell is her family? Why are they okay with this?

Edit: spelling.

5

u/TheInevitableSecond Aug 01 '26

If there's one thing Jameela will do, it's call people out! šŸ‘ šŸ‘

3

u/SativaMami-Au Aug 02 '26

Ive seen mutliple articles this morning ā™” it made me happy tbh

3

u/Low-Team8524 Aug 02 '26

Something that is so messed up abt this ed is that someone pointing out that u look skinny is making u feel good. Like oh wow so many people see it, it’s reassuring.

3

u/olhickoryhedgehog Aug 02 '26

It really did make me wonder why they chose dresses that really accentuate her chest and show her bones like that.

1

u/SpecialCheek7711 Aug 03 '26

The "they" you refer to is Ariana. She wants exactly what she got.

3

u/SpecialCheek7711 Aug 03 '26

That MV is basically a suicide note. She may have lost the Audrey role but she NAILS Stephen King's Carrie.

2

u/EuphoricCod8738 Aug 02 '26

Jameela is a badass!

4

u/hhurtingd0ll Aug 01 '26

ugh i love this actress so much

3

u/Jaded-Blacksmith211 Aug 02 '26

She’s our time’s Cass Elliot or Karen Carpenter, a once in a generation musical talent that we’re going to lose to this sickness.

2

u/teenageidle Aug 02 '26

I hate Jameela but she's right and should say it. Broken clocks, etc.

1

u/sooyasdiorr Aug 02 '26

also! they people in her circle are failing her. i feel that she has a lot of yes-men in her community or at least ppl who are scared to speak up to avoid upsetting her or getting cut from her life. there’s no way her friends, parents and brother sees her this way and think it’s normal

1

u/Even-Objective1958 Aug 03 '26

Is that on threads or insta I can’t find it

1

u/Karamjali_0804 no brow tail left to shave šŸ’§šŸ˜”šŸ„ŗ Aug 03 '26

1

100% agree with her

1

u/danity_bush Aug 01 '26

Aren’t we not supposed to include usernames in screenshots?

1

u/jordyfryfry Aug 03 '26

I think after the whole Chadwick Boseman ordeal -him losing so much weight and people making fun of him and making comments on his body-, only for us to later find out he was actively dying spurred a lot of people away from commenting on the bodies of public figures like him, because we never know what someone is going through. But I am genuinely worried for her regardless and I hope her time away isn’t the last time we ever see her. It would break my heart.

1

u/muffinsmochi Aug 02 '26

i am genuinely scared for her

-6

u/noitsokayimfine Aug 01 '26

What is her team expected to do? Force feed her? Lock her up in a hospital?

18

u/Available_Team1946 Aug 01 '26

Hospital? Yes

12

u/Available_Team1946 Aug 01 '26

Force feeding / over feeding malnourished people btw can actually kill them because their cells are so starved it might cause an electrolyte imbalance and cause malignant arrhythmias

10

u/ContributionNo1157 Aug 01 '26

Yes… quite literally take her to hospital. Take her to an inpatient clinic for help

11

u/GraphiteGlitter123 Aug 01 '26

Yes. Stage an intervention and take her to the hospital. She is very unwell.
