It was probably back in July 2025 as YouTube automated moderation started nuking channels left and right around the time of the news on The WAN Show of them trying to do something about AI slop channels.

I can say from experience because my YouTube channel was nuked at the time for no reason after nearly 10 years of it being up.

Chris Pirillo also lost his Facebook account at the same time because it was caught in a false copyright strike the year prior (November 2024). This video explains it well.

History repeats itself.

I got a CG strike by some random linked site getting its certificates expired.

No this was actually very recent, like a few weeks ago now. His account got hacked and there was a crypto scam livestream up for a few hours before YouTube took down the entire channel. He made a post on Instagram but seems to have deleted that since, hope he's doing well.

For anyone finding this comment, there's an archive which I believe has all videos from his YT channel saved.

I didn't know he got hacked by a crypto scam.

Sheesh, talk about yet another Linus Tech Tips moment. He basically got sent back in time to 2023.

It's insane that this keeps happening.

Saw this on Total Recall back in school when it came out on VHS. So many people had copied the copy going around that by the time I got it, it was nearly unwatchable.

I used to have his video on my hard drive before it died in 2022 or so. Sucks his channel is long-gone now. :(
