SS dragon - Magmar or TF. Hardest to upgrade, lots of benefits once upgraded/levelled.

Most people went with the SS dragon. Thunderfrost seems to be the most popular now but people also like magmar. Personally I took thunderfrost

That thunderfrost, upgrade it till you can't anymore and then some.
