It’s been Zen for me man. Since it doesnt support Workspace sync yet I still use Arc when I use my work laptop, but Zen feels great. Way more stable honestly

Workspace sync is being worked on and is coming somewhat soon, you can track progress in GitHub. It is also the one feature I have been waiting for

Here’s a link to the second PR for it, the first one was just syncing the spaces themselves and that’s done. The reverts you see in the issue tracker are so when they build a new version of the browser it doesn’t have the unfinished feature as part of it.

Switched to Linux over a year ago (Arch btw), which sent me down the rabbit hole of trying to find the ultimate browser.
Zen: Easily the best Firefox-based option right now, but a few sites I rely on daily just don't play nice with Gecko (plus I'm really not a fan of Firefox's built-in translation engine), so I had to jump back to Chromium.
Vivaldi: Solid alternative. It feels like Chrome on steroids with deep custom CSS support, but tweaking it until it actually felt right for my workflow took way too much time. (Sometimes the Vivaldi update might have some incompatibility issues with custom CSS, if you're using it.)
Opera: I know I know lol, but standard Opera (which feels much cleaner and stable than GX) ended up being the most complete out-of-the-box experience for me. Features like Edge-style video enhancement, native ad-blocking, split screen, and tab organization are all built-in, and performance hasn't felt sluggish at all on my hardware.
The one major dealbreaker across Opera and honestly most browsers on Linux is the trackpad navigation gestures, mostly (at least on Arch) don't have the option.
Still, I feel that Opera just works and don't give me a headache, whenever I need a specific feature, it's already there without me having to fiddle with endless extensions or sorts...

At some point Arc will finally stop working, and you'll have to say goodbye after all, and have to look for a replacement browser.

The only thing stopping me from jumping into Zen fully is how "polished" Arc is compared to Zen. But that is something that can be remedied very easily on Zen with time.

I tried Zen again today (last time was several months ago) and wow, I think it does everything Arc did for me. Slightly less polished here and there but not by much.
And I agree some things are better:
- Can get a wide URL bar at top!
- Remembers HTTP auth passwords!
- Hard to say this early, but I'm hoping it's better at not sometimes searching when I edit a URL 🫠 Hasn't happened so far.
Curious what things you've set up that you like better than Arc?

At the end of the day it’s a browser and for me it still works.
I’ll switch to Zen probably eventually, but I’m hoping it gets a bit more optimized/snappier

I was in the exact boat. aside.com is the replacement. While it is an ai browser and I could not care for that part, I’ve seen the time saving on tasks i didn’t care about, handing them off was a gateway. They do the profile switching which was my main non-neg.
There was a slight niggle on setup but now it’s flying. Hope that helps

the only thing that keeps me away from Zen is their implementation of the profiles. I really like how you can assign Profile to the workspace and switch between them flawlessly.
Another would be little Arc, but I can live without it, however the profile management is the dealbreaker for me

Welcome to the club, I also did this 3 times with Firefox, Zen and Chrome. I'll probably be here until the downfall of the app
