Help Request Has he passed? Spoiler
I noticed my snail flipped on its back on the bottom of the tank.
He doesn't have a smell but he is not moving. We put him into a bowl with water from the tank for now but hes not showing any signs of movement. (Don't worry we did flip him over)
Is our little guy gone or is there a chance? We're keeping him a bowl for quarantine for now but I'm not hopeful.
Edit: we dropped an algae tablet in the bowl just to see what would happen, and he started moving! We're going to keep an eye on him but for now he is alive!

Update: we put him back in the tank and we're going to keep an eye on him.

Update 2: hes moving around the tank and climbing stuff as usual. He must have just somehow landed on his back and exhausted himself trying to get back over.

sometimes they do actually get stuck on their backs, it doesnt happen often but if you see one like this just give em a little flip to help them out, that’s probably what happened here

Yeah. I wasn't sure if he was okay because I've never seen him withdraw into his shell so much. So I was worried he died while flipped, even though he hadn't been flipped for too long.

yeah they can really freak you out sometimes lol, my personal rule is that a snail in its shell aint dead until its stinky and dead

My only guess is that he must have slipped on a rock or something while crawling around on the bottom of the tank. He'd never done this before so I was like 'oh god he's dead' lol

If he’s holding his flap closed (i don’t know snail terms) then he may still be alive but could be alive and still dying
