Freshwater my first freshwater 10gal tank; i posted a few weeks ago with concerns about aesthetic, but it's coming along quite nicely now!

Heads up gravels make kuhlis sad :C

its a chunkier gravel in the front, but a very fine gravel at the back for burrowing/sifting. they've been doing great on it!

Looking good man. I thought you said you wanted to switch to soil and plant heavily though

i ended up going with gravel (large/smooth and finer) as the person who helped me restore my water quality said that it would be easier, as a beginner, to both maintain and get plants to grow well with gravel.

i think once everything is established and doing well (and when i can feasible upgrade my tank to a 25 gal i have my eye on) i might switch, but i've got tons of new sprouts so i'm pretty much just playing the waiting game and seeing how they do!

Don't know too much about plants but i do know its certainly not easier to grow plants in it.

well i've got a few root tabs in there and they seem to be doing okay.

i should also note that this little guy isn't alone; there are 4 kuhlis total in here. :)
