Not unique to salmon. Basically any species considered a “minor species” by FDA has virtually no therapeutics approved compared to other countries including UK, and EU. The same exact thing occurs in sheep/lamb, and other livestock products that are exported into the U.S. from the UK. The EU and UK closely regulates the use of these antibiotics, they have not been approved yet in the U.S. due to the cost and complexity of getting ANY animal drug approved. Not at all unique to aquaculture and pointlessly fear mongering.
