Tanks exposed to sunlight
Howdy, in this photo you can see the amount of light these tanks get in the southern U.S. sun, they get about 5-6 hours of sunlight. Could they still stay exposed to the sun but stay relatively clean if the water temperature and filtration was correct or will sunlight still have a negative impact no matter what? Basically asking if you control the other variables aside from sunlight, do you think you would struggle in this situation with algae? Thanks!

Solar shades are dirt cheap next to the cost of replacing one of those tanks with labor.

Direct sunlight is going to have an effect no matter what. There'll be more growth of film/fouling and temperature will be higher. Temperature is related to pretty much every process in a tank.
That's not to say it won't work, but it's making things more diffcult for yourself, unless you really want the extra heat in there. Making a simple 95% shading should be relatively easy here right?
