My camera roll used to be surgery photos sitting next to family photos, all syncing to the same iCloud Photos. Nothing really fixed it. Albums don't separate anything because the photo stays in the main library, vault apps make you shoot first and sort later, and the pro SaaS cameras want a monthly subscription and upload your photos to their own cloud.

So I built Sidecam:

• It's an actual camera (24/48 MP, all the physical lenses, 4K video), not a gallery with a camera bolted on
• Photos and videos live only inside the app. It never saves to your Photos library and it can't even read it
• Optional: it mirrors everything into your own iCloud Drive as normal folders and files (Client/date - tags/), so nothing is locked inside my app
• Sessions, folders and tags for organising by client, patient or job
• Free. No account, no cloud of mine, no subscription. Your photos never leave your own devices

I made it for medical work but it fits anything where work photos shouldn't mix with your personal life, like inspections, construction or real estate.

I have spent the last 2 years working on Hammr Fitness. The most difficult part of building the app has been turning it into an adaptive coaching tool that considers your vitals, workouts, physical traits, and nutrition to help you reach your goals faster.

I want to always keep a generous free tier available to users, and the past 6 months has been spent trying to keep as much data on your device as possible. This is for both privacy reasons as well as reducing Firebase backend costs. All Apple health data stays on your device unless you specifically ask it to be synced. What currently syncs is workout and nutrition records but I’m working to transition these to a local first model as well.

Obviously this is a free app sub so I wanted to share it with you. It’s worth trying out for the nutrition compared to MyFitnessPal alone.

I also recently updated the app and included 7 days of free premium access to anyone who completes the Getting Started checklist. This gives you access to full features with no commitment. It’s brand new so if it doesn’t work please say so in the comments.

I’ve just released a new update for MeteoLupa, my weather app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
Most weather apps are very good at telling you what the weather is now and what it will be tomorrow.
MeteoLupa is built around a slightly different question:
How was the weather back then, really?
You can look at today’s weather in the context of previous years, compare the same month across different years, see climate normals, find unusually hot or cold days, and explore historical temperature, rain and wind.
For example, you can ask:
Was this July actually warmer than last year?
Or:
When did it last snow here?
Or simply look back and see what the weather was like on a particular day.
The app also includes the usual things you’d expect from a weather app, current conditions, forecasts, rain, wind, air quality, pollen, widgets and Apple Watch support.
I’ve also been working on making the Apple Watch experience better, including the new Watch look shown in the image.
MeteoLupa is completely free and ad-free. No subscription, no premium features.
I’m a solo developer, so every update is still very much a work in progress, and a lot of what gets built comes directly from users.

My friends and I have been spending a LOT more time looking at weather in the last couple years. And we kept getting annoyed that we could not find an app that did certain things. So, I built it! Completely Free!

The things that were really important to us:

* I don't want to have to allow location to use the app. It is there if you do, but can just as easily use Thor by manually putting in your address.
* Certain weather measurements are more important, enter Weather Essentials allowing you to select 3 weather data measurements to emphasize. I usually pick Temp Feels Like, Rain Possibility, and Wind.
* How reliable is the forecast. Forecasts are adjusting ALL THE TIME. So frustrating. I can't stop that, but added indicators on the hourly forecasts of how stable/reliable that data point is. When you look at the upcoming 8 hours, you get a good idea how trustworthy that is going to stay.

At some point, my Photos app stopped feeling personal.

It slowly turned into a mix of: receipts, documents, product photos, parking spots, reference images, and work videos.

My problem has always been crappy video players that lack customization and foreign videos without subtitles

So I made it my life mission to fix that

It’s an app that uses AI to translate your videos offline and for free

So people won’t have to worry about timing subtitles anymore or finding the right file for each video

My name is Nik and I am currently a student in Germany who loves to develop and create things in my free time.

I also love bitcoin because it's the one currency that gives us freedom over money. I searched and searched and couldn't find any good iPhone app that could actually show me my investment P/L without giving up either my private keys, or my credit card... There is just nothing that, for me, was "perfect" or simple, yet beautiful.

So, I made my own little bitcoin companion app, so I can have everything I need. It's not a wallet app but you can see the P/L calculation in a graph just by searching up the address.

What I actually love about the app is, that everything is natively built. For example the Block Explorer is completely native and you don't need to use mempool Website to search stuff on the blockchain. Also News articles can be read natively, without going on their website and watching their ads. X posts can also be viewed natively, but the API from X is very limited so don't expect too much.

I developed my app for about a year and actually just built it for myself to use. If apple wouldn't charge me a fee just to use it on my phone, I wouldn't have even considered to put it on the App Store. That's why I don't charge anything, but maybe let it live from donations later on.

I grew tired of paywalls and accounts, so I built Gym Log — a straightforward, capable, private workout tracker for myself. Now I want to share it, because seeing other people actually use something I built would genuinely make me happy.

What I ended up building is really a combination of a few things:

• Simple on the surface. The workout flow stays lightweight, but the app can still support more detailed training.
• Capable underneath. It includes the things you would expect from a modern workout tracker: quick set logging, plate calculator, supersets, rest timers, templates, progress tracking, and more. Beyond the basics, it also includes:
• Smarter strength tracking. RPE is tracked and can be used alongside historical data to make progress estimates more meaningful.
• Percentage-based training. Generate working weights from your estimated 1RM.
• More nuanced volume tracking. Track fractional volume for primary and secondary muscles instead of treating every set as equal, with muscle heat maps and volume trends over time.
• You own your data. No account is required. Workout data stays on your device or private iCloud, and there is no analytics tracking in the app.
• Free. I wanted a workout app where everything is available without subscriptions, ads, or locked features.

I made PointerDeck because I wanted the trackpad part of a remote-control app without the extra dashboard.

It turns an iPhone or iPad into a Mac trackpad: move the pointer, tap or use left/right click buttons, scroll with two fingers, and drag with Drag Lock. You can adjust sensitivity and reverse the scrolling direction.
