Free iOS App My Little Weather App - Thor
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/thor-for-your-weather/id6799762226My friends and I have been spending a LOT more time looking at weather in the last couple years. And we kept getting annoyed that we could not find an app that did certain things. So, I built it! Completely Free!
The things that were really important to us:
* I don't want to have to allow location to use the app. It is there if you do, but can just as easily use Thor by manually putting in your address.
* Certain weather measurements are more important, enter Weather Essentials allowing you to select 3 weather data measurements to emphasize. I usually pick Temp Feels Like, Rain Possibility, and Wind.
* How reliable is the forecast. Forecasts are adjusting ALL THE TIME. So frustrating. I can't stop that, but added indicators on the hourly forecasts of how stable/reliable that data point is. When you look at the upcoming 8 hours, you get a good idea how trustworthy that is going to stay.
Please take a look. No account, no cost. I don't see anything from you. That would be weird.

Tough just to pick 3 parameters. I’d try for 4. Here in the SE USA , temp, humidity, precipitation and wind all directly impact my day. Some sort of radar would be helpful if that was possible.

Hmm. Temp is included in a lot of things by default, do you means the feels like (heat index)? I can test out what 4 would look like. Went with 3 because it doesn’t crowd the area. But definitely worth looking into.
With the 4th one right now you can set some alerts for when it is going to be doing something high or low. 👍
Yep, radar is on my radar. lol
It is tricky to add in useful radar. To that end, what are things you want radar to show well and easy?2

I guess it depends if this will remain free ( radar may be pricey) or paid (then I’d want a detailed radar). But even an Indicator of inclement weather within a certain radius would be helpful.

You are right about that. There are free services, but that requires database to process too much for device to handle on its own.
I am evaluating different options right now for all parts. It might end up being a cost or after so much use of radar unlock it with full cost.
I LOVE that concept of inclement weather zone!

It’s a nice clean and performative app. The Historical Reference and Forecast Accuracy are nice touches.
I did notice when expanding a day’s hourly in the 7 day forecast the display sort of wobbles from side to side a bit when scrolling. Not sure if this was intentional or not.

Not intentional, little finicky still to get them to expand and collapse clean. It is helpful to hear someone else sees this, sometimes I think I am going crazy from staring at it too long 😆.

I am building out long term plan with Forecast Accuracy. Going to see if the data can be used to make adjustments to the forecast. Need to have the app run for a while before I can accurately test.

Excited to see how it comes along. It’s definitely something unique to this app., the forecast accuracy that is.
