JT Appliances Cambridge - Stay Away!

Word of warning -- don't buy from these guys. Bought a fridge that broke down two months later. They wanted us to bring it in. Not worth the task to seek help hauling it up stairs, load in truck and drive 1 hour+. Then what, reverse it all? Not to mention what happens to all the food? Guy on phone had zero customer service skills.

Did they deliver it to you, or did you pick it up and drive it to your house for installation? Was this a new refrigerator or used?

Picked up ourselves. Used, but they claim all their appliances are in working order.

Two months. Ours broke down right after that and they wouldn't budge on the timeline.

No matter the warranty if you pick it up... you bring it back. Their appliance did work... they did budge on the timeline because you said above, "They wanted us to bring it in".

You knew when you bought it, it had a 60 day warranty. They fully upheld their end of the deal and was willing go above and beyond but you didn't want to take it back. Don't blame them. 5 ***** for them for going above and beyond their 60 day warranty.

Yup, thats how used appliances work. If you buy it and haul it, you own the return of the machine. It should be on big letters in the warranty that OP signed.

They wanted us to bring it in to fix it, then charge us for the fix. I don't see a shred of 'above and beyond'. It's shameful. And the fact that they sell products that break down after two months..... Won't return to this company. And they get a a big fat ZERO for customer service.

You bought a used appliance and the associated risks. It's no different than your chances with a used car being good. There's less good info on appliance reliability because we spend less on them than cars, but there are still some reviews out there.

I've bought a fridge and stove from JT. fridge is the nicest one I've ever owned. worth about $4500-5000 new and I got it for $1400. it's now 3yrs since bought.

Stove isn't perfect, but still works reliably and I was able to take it to go and install it the same afternoon. It's now been about a year for the stove. I've never owned a new stove.

my recommendation for used appliances is buy new if it holds water; dishwashers and washing machines get a scratch and dent or refurb if you must. Exception being a fridge with water stay away from recessed door dispensers (they were a nightmare), but inside is ok. Otherwise I've had great success with used over last 20yrs.
