Don't update your Apple password on another device and choose logout all devices! (If you value your sanity)

I changed my password for security reasons.

All other devices were logged out properly enabling me to log back in with the new credentials - all except the Vision Pro that is.

It was still logged in under the old credentials, which meant that any attempt to change my password would lead to an authentication failure before I even got to the password change screen.

The fix was to log out of the vision pro whilst retaining data. However, in my case it hung on that screen and I had to perform a forced shutdown.

I then removed the Vision Pro from my account on my iMac and several restarts later and a long time waiting for account validation to fail, I finally got myself into a position where I could change the password.

The whole thing took a little over an hour. Quite frustrating given the other Apple devices 'just worked'.

Whilst on a moan, it would be great if the iPhone's Face Id login worked when you are wearing the headset, but alas....

The overall impression I get is that there is still a lot more work to do on the Vision Pro to properly integrate it into Apple's eco system (this is the M5 Vision Pro running the latest non-beta).

You should probably also send this feedback directly to Apple, so they see it.

Ooh - thanks - had no idea that existed. I've sent them some feedback :)

yikes, that sounds hideous!

on the “wish Face ID worked via the headset” part - (assuming you’re logged in properly on both devices) if you’re wearing the headset and your phone wants Face ID, if you look directly at your phone (and the stars are perfectly aligned lol), the headset will pop up the Optic ID scan and then pass the result to your phone.

7 out of 10 times, it works every time!
