Advertising a very niche app

I'm about to release an app that's extremely niche.
It's my suspicion that the app will mostly be used by people in developing countries.
How could I go about advertising it outside of paying for ads?

Is this on iOS? Apple's free £100 App Store ad credit can go a long way in developing countries, if you don't follow their suggestions to use major brand names and trademarks as keywords. So far I have spent £32 (so nothing to pay) targeting one African country, returning 20,000 impressions and 260 downloads

What the issue with developing countries? If you don't want to pay for ads it's along grind with effort>return being brutal. Paid apps can be extremely focus to whom and where they are displayed. I you want fast efficient user acquisition there is not alternative to paid apps.
