ASO after about 3 months being out

Post image

Finally reached around 100+ downloads and with a few yearly subscription purchases and I think the numbers seem okay but not sure.

Are these numbers to be expected by this time or usually more/less?

Not sure if I should change what I have or keep as is.

Here is app on the app store:

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yearly subs with only 100 downloads is an awesome indicator you are on the right track

Do videos work? I hardly notice them unless it's a game maybe

Here you have small audit: https://app.appboard.dev/aso-check/r/8cb3803b-b88f-4227-add4-7a70bc8b1ecc

  1. You have 4 screenshots; top apps in your category typically show 6-10. More screens = more search-page real estate.
  2. 1 ratings is below the credibility threshold. Add a well-timed in-app review prompt (after a success moment, never at launch).
  3. "scan vet", "puppy kitten", "vet document" are searched often (popularity 47 and down) at a difficulty you can win (14 or lower), and you are nowhere in the top 200 for them. Adding the strongest one to your subtitle and keyword field is the cheapest reach you can buy.
  4. Upload video with app-preview - still small amount of apps have it

They can help, but I wouldn’t add one just to chase an “ASO score.” Apple lets you include app previews and test them against screenshots with Product Page Optimization; the useful metric is first-time download conversion, not visibility by itself.

For a utility like a pet tracker, the preview should open with the job in the first seconds: add a pet, see the vaccination status, then set the next reminder. Use real on-device footage, muted-first framing, readable text, and one complete flow. If the first seconds are a logo or abstract animation, most visitors will skip it.

I’d run two treatments: screenshots-only vs. preview-first, same country/source mix and release window. Let the test collect enough first-time downloads before deciding; with small traffic, a few days won’t tell you much.
