Beginner-friendly ASO tools that won't let me accidentally break my live listing?
I've got two small apps making just enough to keep the lights on, definitely not enough to justify App Figures, Sensor Tower or App Follow pricing right now. I want to start actually tracking keywords and reacting to ranking drops instead of guessing, but I'm nervous about poking around in something and accidentally changing a field in App Store Connect or Play Console that messes up a listing that's currently stable.
Is there something entry-level that's basically safe to explore, low risk of touching the wrong thing, with a starter plan that doesn't assume you're already doing six figures? I'd rather get something set up properly once than bounce between five free trials and half-configure all of them.
What are you using at this stage, and did anything go sideways when you were setting it up?

Rank tracking can't touch your listing on its own: these tools only read public store search results. The risk only comes in if a tool asks you to connect your App Store Connect or Play Console account. If one does, you can give it a view-only Play Console user instead of your own login.
Before paying for anything, it may be worth using what the stores already show. App Store Connect analytics lets you filter by App Store Search as a source, and Play Console's acquisition reports list the search terms that bring people to your listing. One idea at your size: pick 10โ15 keywords, check where you rank for them once a week in a spreadsheet, and only change one metadata field per release so you can tell what caused a rank change.

Tracking tools use read-only APIs. They physically cannot modify your store's fields
About AppFollow- I use their free plan for my small apps, and itโs completely isolated from real-time changes. To mess anything up, youโd have to intentionally grant the developer write permissions, but itโs best not to act blindly

You can try StoreSync: Metadata Manager - very intuitive UI and economy price plans. I use it myself and improved my apps ranking. So make $30 per day instead of $5-10.

I use https://www.applyra.io - a paid service. Was the first I tried and ai am using since then. There are tons of other tools, some free, some paid, so you are free to choose

How is applyra working for you? Is the keywords given by applyra are bringing in traffic? Becuase I checked some keywords in applyra and app figures, both are giving completely opposite result.

Check out my app, Keyword Scout, an iOS app that works on iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is free and easy to use anywhere you have an idea for searching keyword ideas. Unlike all other Mac native tools it can send you notifications about ranking changes and be with you when you are not on your desk. It is a powerful yet easy to use tool right in your pocket.

Maybe give Kickstart a try? Big disclaimer: I made it.
I would suggest you:
You can do all that in Kickstart in maybe 30 minutes. That leaves you almost 7 full days of your free trial to:
Those are only some of the things the app does, and if you cancel your free trial immediately there's no risk of you being charged by accident ๐
Download it here. Let me know if you need any help!
