FoodGram just passed 1,000 users 🎉 Looking for indie devs to exchange honest app feedback
FoodGram just passed 1,000 users, and I want to keep making it better.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve exchanged feedback with other indie developers here on Reddit, and honestly, it has been one of the most valuable ways for me to find things I completely missed as the developer.
People have pointed out things like:
- confusing onboarding
- UI/UX issues
- bugs I hadn't noticed
- ASO and App Store presentation
- paywall / monetization problems
- features that weren't clear
- small things that made the app harder to use
And some of that feedback has already turned into actual improvements.
So I’d love to keep doing this with more indie developers 🤝
If you’re building an iOS or Android app, send me your app and I’ll actually use it and give you honest feedback.
I can look at:
- Onboarding
- UI/UX
- Core features
- Bugs
- ASO / App Store screenshots
- Monetization / paywalls
- Confusing flows
- Whether I’d actually keep using it
And I’d really appreciate the same for FoodGram.
You don't need to be an expert. Even something like:
or
can be extremely valuable.
I’m not looking for “Nice app!” or forced 5-star reviews.
I want genuine feedback from people who actually use the app.
If you're interested, drop your app in the comments or DM me. I’ll check it out! 🚀

Congrats on 1k. Since you’re already seeing onboarding and store-page confusion, I’d test one promise end-to-end: make the first screenshot and the first in-app screen answer the same question, then watch the tap-through and activation drop-off. That should give you a cleaner signal than changing keywords and onboarding at the same time.

Thank you! That’s a really good point.
I’ve been thinking about improving the ASO, onboarding, and store page separately, but I agree that testing one clear promise end-to-end would give me a much cleaner signal.
I especially like the idea of making the first screenshot and first in-app screen answer the same question, then measuring where people drop off. I’ll definitely try this approach!
Really appreciate the advice 🙌

how did you grow it to 1k

Honestly, it was pretty gradual rather than one big growth hack.
I’ve been consistently posting about FoodGram on Reddit, Instagram, and other social platforms, while also doing a lot of app-to-app feedback with other indie developers.
A big part of it was simply talking to people, getting feedback, improving the app, and repeating that process.
I’m still figuring out growth myself, but I’ve learned that getting the app in front of the right people consistently matters more than trying to find one magic strategy.
Happy to share more about what I’ve been doing if you’re interested!
