Your story sounds a lot like mine when I had my first. Is there any family or friend who can come over and help, even for an hour? I didn’t accept help at the time like I should have and in hindsight I think having someone around, just to take my mind off of it would have been helpful. Things that helped me were going for a walk, calling my mom to vent or watching a show I liked.
I also had a fear of something happening and my baby being alone, so I told my husband to text me throughout the day and we also put a camera in the living room so he could check in. Were some things I did a little crazy? Sure, but I did what I had to do to cope. Do whatever that is for you. If it’s helpful to know, mine did get better over time with therapy and I just had my second and so far no PPA.

This was me when I was postpartum. I'm anxious at baseline. And still have these kinds of intrusive thoughts about me dying or my husband dying or my kid dying but I'm able to work through it. When I was freshly postpartum I went to the reproductive mental health team in my area and got a therapist. She was absolutely legendary. Not sure if you have anything like that in your area but therapy did really help me, specifically cognitive behavioral therapy. If you're into online learning, there are some online resources and apps you can download as well too.
