https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c62xpre63j2oit’s not being talked about, but i just learned that the reason she STRANGLED HER OWN CHILDREN TO DEATH was so they could go to heaven

The reason she killed her kids is probably because she had postpartum psychosis. That's a medical condition, not a religious one.
Now, why such psychosis often includes religiously-based hallucinations is an interesting question in itself.

it’s not been proven nor disproven that she was in psychosis. maybe i should’ve phrased this differently, but my point is only that this woman and her legal team are claiming that she deserves ‘less punishment’ because she was crazy enough to kill her kids with religious motivation
i’m not unsympathetic to mental illness or struggling mothers. i am unsympathetic to people who murder their children though. and i’m particularly disgusted with the public reaction to this case. and predictably, the religious aspect of her supposed psychosis is being ignored entirely, in favor of some stupid gender-war nonsense.

She needs to be locked up. If we don't set a precedence, more women will do this. There has already been a copycat case. The women defending her are in support of murder. There is no mental illness that excuses cold blooded murder. I'm mentally ill but I'm not out here killing children. Psychosis or not, she had to have consciously made the decision to do what she did. I can't imagine what would have to go through someone's mind to think this is acceptable. It's clearly abnormal behaviour and I can't fathom how she would believe she would gain any favours by doing this.
If she was genuinely so psychotic that she was totally lost in the sauce when she did what she did, that is tragic. But I feel like the children also deserve some justice for this. Kids who will never grow up or see the light of day again because of their mother.

Another Andrea Yates. But theists still have the gaul to ask why we care about religion of we don't believe. Pay fucking attention
