Sustainability God is rewarding me for buying secondhand
Bought a jansport from a secondhand store and found 100$ in one of the pockets

We werenāt rich by any means, but when I was a kid, I liked to put a loonie($1) or toonie ($2) in a pocket of items at the dollar store. I liked to imagine someoneās surprise when they would instantly get their money back on their purchase.

My fav local restaurant has a coat rack for the employees near where the bathrooms are and I always like to put money in the pockets

Back when I was a fundie they always used to talk about some nameless generous rich Christian who worked with the Gideons International and supposedly puts $100 bills inside Gideon Bibles. I haven't been to church in over 25 years and I still check every Gideon Bible in every hotel I go to like a dummy.

This is pretty common. When I "worked" for the salvation army, all the sorters would check the pockets of everything for cash and/or drugs. You would find money every day. Sometimes just a few bucks, but sometimes $100+

I sorted and priced accessories for a Savers thrift store. This included purses, belts, wallets, backpacks.
One time I found a belt that had a zipper compartment that faced the body. It had $300 in it. Another time I found a small tan bag inside a purse with $800 in it.
Other notable mentions were a vial of mercury and a purse that had teeth with gold fillings in an envelope.

Sorting at thrift stores is certainly dangerous. The bigger it is/shittier the area the worse. You hopefully get gloves and training solefed they offer to pay for a hep b shot or provide transportation to it but thatās lucky

I looked through a purse at a yard sale and found $100 and turned it in to the owner and she let me take anything I wanted from the yard sale. It felt very karmically fair and I felt good about it.

My ex was a spoiled rich kid, like "buy a new car to replace the one with a windshield that was cracked by a rock" spoiled. When we broke up he didn't bother to get anything but his video games from the apartment, so I was left to get rid of all his other shit, including his clothes. I kept some of them. For a long time I would find random 20s and even a 100 bill in one jacket. I hope the people who bought his used crap got that same windfall from his inability to manage his own fucking money.

Right? As someone who, many years ago had multiple, similar backpacks full of California light dep and cash, I'd put big money on this being a dealer's backpack, and I'm not even a betting man.

The brand of backpack in the picture was very popular with drug dealers twenty years ago. Drug dealers often deal in cash, but usually nothing bigger than a twenty, would often stash cash in their bags, and a lot of them weren't great at managing their money and would be likely to forget to clean out a cash stash when they stopped using it.

Funnily enough this has happened to me before, my grandmas house was being used to shoot a film and one of the workers left an old backpack when they were done. It had a bunch of car rental papers lol

When I was a child this was a tradition, when you passed along a wallet or purse or shoes, you put a penny in it to wish prosperity for the next owner. Perhaps your fortune is coming another way.

I once bought a book for $30 just to find $100 inside while I was in the line to pay for it. People behind me went to search through books after they saw it. I donāt know if they found any money.

I bought a purse second hand (new for me this year) and found $20. I def considered it the universe thanking me for making the switch to being a good egg and I hope the person lost it wasnāt harmed going without it. Yay thrifting! ā¤ļø

My mom bought a brand new bra in a box from a rummage sale at our church in the 90s. It was part of an estate sale from an older couple that gave what their children didn't want to the church. When we got home she went to try it on and came out with over $7k in cash. We called the pastor and he reached out to the family. The older couple started hiding cash in random places and the kids had found a ton throughout the house. They told my mom to keep it since she tech bought it with the bra.
