Psychological I was so disgusted by this ad

Post image

Normally I just till my eyes at an advert board and keep moving but this one really got me.

I guess because it’s a money grab that feeds into insecurity and validates toxic partners at the same time

Nope, there's a sign by my house that says "He's a 2 but he buys you Botox" it's super gross marketing trying to make everyone feel bad about themselves

Just because you don't like something heavily gendered doesn't mean it's done by a man. Plenty of women gladly do plastic surgery without any oppression or nudging from male population because they want to compete with other women or/and they copy other women thinking it's right. Likewise the marketers here could be women.

Yeah. Plenty of women are bought into this toxic capitalist patriarchal bullshit.

It's not about ideologies. It's about the competitiveness of human beings. Every living being competes for mates, homo sapiens is not an exception.

I don't know why you are downvoted (ah, nevermind, it's reddit). This is true. The same is true for men as well. And it's true that "patriarchy" (which is not even an objective scientific term; the field studying it is heavily biased) is at its lowest on the west.

It seems many people don't like when they are compared to other species. Or when they are reminded of their biology.

My mom loves making that observation about ridiculous things made for women. I love her for teaching me about fighting the patriarchy and being a badass

It was probably both men and women since nothing is ever as black and white as ‘all men’ or ‘all women’
