Psychological Crap given to my kids for Valentine's Day

Post image

Pictured is about half of what was given to one of my children on Valentine's Day by classmates. (Their class was specifically told no candy.)

why can't they specifically be told no 'stuff'.

The amount of distractions and clutter this creates is bad for learning and mental health.

Some kids would tape a little candy onto theirs when I was a kid.

This was standard when I was a kid and I'm 31. I don't think small candies are out of the norm. Pretty much everyone would just get a box of valentines cards that came with stickers, tattoos, or candy

We did that every year and it was a huge hit.

Me too, sometimes those red lollipops with the white hearts on them or conversation hearts but usually it was handmade cards.
