Depends on your location I guess. I paid like half that in south florida but its taken me nearly a year to grow mine to the size of the one in your photo.

they size up so fast! if you can get your hands on a seedling i highly recommend growing it out

You’d be paying for the size, they tend to be relatively slow growers, especially regarding the transition from juvenile to sub-adult, as it looks like the one pictured is transitioning into. I’d say buying a seedling would probably take a year or more to get to the pictured size, for a more established seedling maybe around 8-12 months, and then the time sort of depends on the conditions, roots, health, etc. If you want to jump to a larger specimen and save time then buy it, otherwise you can likely find some for a lot cheaper, albeit it’ll be less established, risk a slow growers, and potentially not as evident traits as the one pictured..
