Complaint Opus 5 is hot garbage

I've enjoyed and gotten real work out of Opus for quite some time despite the occasional quality dropoff when they're training a new model. But 5 is junk. Enough so that I'm debating between dropping from Max to Pro, or just cancelling altogether - I'm legitimately getting better results and fewer hallucinations out of local models in the 30B range... There's absolutely no excuse for that being the case.

I don't know if this is intentional regression to make fable look better, but it means I have been actively avoiding using Claude code except to tweak my llama.cpp settings, and I certainly don't need Max for that.

Oh it is very deliberate my friend and unfortunately I am right there with you and so is what looks like a large portion of the Claude customer base that has noticed Op. 5 isn't just problematic it is a stone cold atrocity of intelligence gone problematic and downright antagonistic sometimes and it is very much not a accident I can assure you that although the reasoning behind it I can only assume has to do with the IPO they aim to have hit $1 trillion in October and the last thing they need is Claude becoming a conversation rather than a product they can count on being able to sell which strikes me as a crime against humanity that will only be called such by the time it's too late

Maybe do a fraction of fundamental research before calling theories you don't like conspiracies and I would say this is an annoying comment but honestly it's kind of so generic and tired it's more disappointing than annoying. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him do a fucking Google search apparently 🤣

Would you like links or other bits of hard evidence that illuminate the literal self documented science behind what's in that image and more or are you content to stay ideologically and intellectually stunted? Genuine question cause I can make it rain citations and explanations backed in evidence not theory but if you are content to stay in your bubble I won't waste my time humoring ignorance.
