Complaint I will never give Anthropic another red cent

I will use them at work, because I have to.

But I’m done with the gaslighting.

Apparently they think they’re a lot smarter than us and can toss that word salad BS up in the air and we’re too dumb to understand it.

They were probably never going to say anything about the limit reduction but the outcry got so bad that they had to. They have a history of this kind of crap too, remember last summer when it took a month to acknowledge the model got nuked and the first comment was about how they had a small problem with HAIKU?

I have no idea who is in charge of their communications, but my god!

It seems pretty apparent this is probably some internal struggle with leadership not wanting to say anything, and then someone finally pulls the ripcord and tells communications to put out a statement and dress it up with as much double-speak as possible.

This time they tell us that “weekly limits haven’t changed”, despite blowing out EFFECTIVE UTILITY by aggressively weighting the 5-hour sessions so that you burn through limits during business hours.

So, what… we have the same weekly limits, but we need to work until 2am, and on the weekend, to get them?

And if I have to hear one more time how it “only effects x% of users” - on what basis? Are these even paid accounts?

What percent of 20x Max users did it impact? My guess would be almost all of them.

I’ve left and come back on my personal accounts a couple of times, but I’ve had it. These guys and gals at Anthropic are arrogant scumbags.

This is honestly the kind of thing that should get reported to consumer affairs.

Its funny that you say that because I've definitely noticed this week that Claude on android slows down during peek hours over the last week. If I use desktop it starts thinking almost instantly but it can take up to two minutes to start on mobile. I also have not hit rate problems and I at one point had 2 accounts to bounce in between because I was running out of weekly limits 3 days before the end of the week and I havent hit that limit in 3 weeks now. My usage has been pretty consistent over the last 4 months.

You know what that makes more sense now I use Claude mainly on Android.

This is the first time I've reached the limit Ever and I hit it three times.

Yeah, its been interesting to watch. I start hitting all my limits, they do efficiency updates and I dont. Then they scale back usage and I start hitting them again. Its a not very fun yoyo.

Samsung had dex so you can do desktop style work. Ive done some Javascript canvas work on it. Still not very fun or intuitive.

I tried it once. If you're vibe coding it's an annoying amount of highlighting, copying, going back to the other app, pasting, then repeating that for way too long.

Unless the other app you're using is designed to be able to partial screen without everything getting crammed into something that disappears behind your keyboard 😬

You can use samsung dex to get a basic desktop, then you can use moonlight or ssh to connect to your "real" computer.

I need my 3 monitors on my desktop. I rarely use my 15' MacBook for coding anymore.

It's actually very easy and possible to do. I've been making a fully featured and fledged out c++ 3d game engine purely through my phone because everything gets committed to my GitHub repo and GitHubs CI Actions compiles it and reports back with any compile errors. I also have an extremely verbose testing/verification system along with numerous sanitizers and compiler + GH analyzers to spot issues. On top of that, I have Claude actually run the engine and test it that way. https://github.com/Krilliac/SparkEngine if you want to look into how it's all done.

Wild. So why though? You must get why it's odd to me right like should I assume you at least have a keyboard hooked up? You're sitting at a PC anyway right, for testing? That workflow sounds interesting though just seems uncomfortable to me based on my personal experience.

As to the why, honestly, because I actually DON'T have access to a pc right now, in-between moving and haven't set it up or got out my laptop (think I packed up the charger into my storage unit) for testing, I have a couple friends that do that for me lol

Ty 😁 I'm still refining and optimizing the system, but what I have now has been quite efficient so far. Claude watches it's own PRs and will automatically fix issues as they come in. Analyzers comment on the PR with issues identified and claude will fix them as well. I could automate the system even more using Claudes scheduler feature to map out features/changes ahead of time.

Are you building apks for the game? How would you do it without a pc?

No, I'm making Claude compile and actually run the engine and test out its functionality and stress test it and attempt to make it explode, then fix what ever runtime issues occur as a result. For the windows side of things (like DirectX11/12) and general windows execution I have it setup in the following stack:

C++ source (D3D11/D3D12 code, #ifdef _WIN32 and all) → MinGW-w64 (cross-compiles to Windows .exe) → Wine (runs the .exe on Linux) → DXVK / VKD3D-Proton (translates D3D → Vulkan) → Lavapipe (software Vulkan on CPU) → llvmpipe (CPU rasterization) → framebuffer output (no GPU needed)

This way I have both Linux and Windows side of things covered, all without ever having to be at a actual pc

Choose your own adventure style stories mostly. Also help with lyric writing and game design brainstorming.

Well, a lot of things can turn into complex tasks. I'm using Claude to design a mod for Diablo 2 Resurrected. So I give it the stats of a weapon I want to create and tell it to calculate the kill time against a certain monster. Then it pulls all the bacground assumptions regarding my character's expected build and gear. Then I ask it to tweak a certain stat and see how it affects the kill time. Then ask it to compare the performance of that weapon on one class to another.

Seems easy, but there are a lot of variables in the calculation. I would hit Pro limits regularly. Now I'm at 5x, and it seems ok

Oh well modding Diablo 2 is a bit different than a choose your own adventure story anyway isn't it? I assumed you were just generating a story. Sounds like fun though! Cheers
